To enable enterprise customers boost the power and insights of their critical business data, Pure Storage has released several new services and product features that further integrate AI capabilities throughout its Pure Storage Enterprise Data Cloud. The additions, many of which were first revealed as coming attractions at the company’s Pure//Accelerate 2025 conference in Las Vegas in June, include:The company also announced a new Pure Storage Cloud Azure Native service through the Microsoft Azure portal that lets customers run their VMware deployments on the Azure cloud. Now generally available, the fully managed service is being offered through the Azure Native Integrations program to help customers reduce overhead, migrate their workloads without refactoring, and decouple storage from compute, according to Pure Storage.Analysts on the UpdatesPaul Nashawaty, principal analyst for application development and modernization at theCUBE Research, told ChannelE2E that he sees the expansion of the company’s Pure1 AI Copilot ecosystem as especially significant.“It brings conversational AI into infrastructure management, letting admins query FlashArray and now Portworx clusters in plain language instead of diving into complex dashboards,” said Nashawaty. “According to research from theCUBE Research, 63% of enterprises say that the lack of skilled IT staff is their top barrier to adopting modern data platforms. Copilot directly addresses that by lowering the expertise bar and accelerating troubleshooting.”And by integrating with MCP servers, “it creates a context-aware intelligence layer across storage, hardware, subscriptions, and analytics tools, and it is clear these are not cosmetic features,” he said. “They represent a shift toward intent-based infrastructure operations.”These new capabilities will certainly help channel partners, he said.“MSPs and channel partners rely on tools that allow them to scale services across diverse customer environments without scaling headcount,” said Nashawaty. “With Pure1 AI Copilot for Portworx, partners can now monitor and manage Kubernetes clusters at scale via instant AI interaction, which cuts down operational overhead. In our research, MSPs adopting AI copilots and orchestration templates reduce customer issue resolution times by up to 45%."When combined with the upcoming Key Value Accelerator (KVA) integration with NVIDIA Dynamo, which will boost AI inference performance by as much as 20x, “MSPs can offer customers not just faster AI workloads but also lower compute costs and reduced carbon footprint,” said Nashawaty. “That is a competitive differentiator in both cost-sensitive and sustainability-driven markets.”Other upcoming new Pure Storage capabilities will also have a positive impact, he said.“Pure Storage is simultaneously tackling operational complexity with Copilot and MCP, AI performance with KVA and NVIDIA Dynamo, and infrastructure efficiency with Purity Deep Reduce,” he said. “Each of these aligns with top enterprise concerns that we track: complexity, cost, and sustainability. Without such enhancements, MSPs and enterprises alike risk running into cost and scale walls as AI workloads multiply.”Another analyst, Shelly Kramer, founder and principal analyst with Kramer&Co., agrees.“The enhancements to the Pure Storage Platform speak specifically to the needs of today's enterprise leaders and the MSPs who serve them, which is, frankly, what I expect to see from this industry leader,” said Kramer. “There are two key realities today – that we live in a hybrid cloud world and that AI solutions that speak to that are critical, and that end-to-end data control is imperative for success with AI. Data is the lifeblood of an organization, and the ability to manage, store, and provide real-time, easy access to that data securely, across any workload, is the name of the game – and the only way to remain competitive.”
- Portworx Pure1 AI Copilot allows Portworx users to query Portworx clusters in the same way they interact with FlashArray systems. The features, which are now generally available, allow users to monitor their Kubernetes and Portworx clusters at scale through AI agents on the Pure1 Copilot user interface.
- Pure1 AI Copilot integration with Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers (to be generally available in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026) will give IT teams the ability to troubleshoot, provision, and optimize these capabilities without deep technical expertise, according to Pure Storage.
Why Cloud Azure Native Service is Important to Pure Storage
Amy Fowler, general manager of Pure Storage’s commercial business, told ChannelE2E that the new Cloud Azure Native service expands the company’s Enterprise Data Cloud into the public cloud, “unifying a data landscape so data is always exactly where it is needed.”The new service will benefit MSPs and other channel partners, she said.“For our partners, these innovations expand conversations and service opportunities from helping customers accelerate cloud adoption to running smarter, more sustainable data centers,” said Fowler.“One theme that comes up in nearly every partner conversation is the challenge of managing storage that is spread across too many silos,” said Fowler. "Enterprises are still running hundreds of disconnected stacks dedicated to individual applications and scattered across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments. The result is sprawl, complexity, and inefficiency. The Pure Storage platform gives customers a unified data plane to handle all workloads, eliminating sprawl and simplifying storage and data management.”This new service was something that partners and customers have discussed with the company in the past, she said.“This update shows how committed Pure Storage is to helping MSPs succeed in the AI era,” said Fowler. “We are giving them tools that make data management simpler, cut down on costs, and boost efficiency, so that they can stand out with stronger services for their customers. The enhancement also supports sustainability by lowering energy use and reducing carbon footprint.”More Features Coming in the PipelineAlso announced were other features that are still to come through 2027, including:- Pure Key Value Accelerator integration with NVIDIA Dynamo for AI inference, which is a high-performance key-value caching solution designed to accelerate AI inference workloads in multi-GPU environments, according to Pure Storage. The companies are planning the integration to improve scalability and increase inference speeds, which is expected to lower computational overhead and reduce carbon footprints. These capabilities are expected to be generally available in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026.
- Portworx by Pure Storage integration with Pure Fusion will allow enterprises to maintain a single unified platform for data and workload storage. This feature will extend fleet management capabilities to containerized cloud-native applications and KubeVirt-based VMs anywhere. These capabilities are expected to be generally available in the first half of fiscal year 2027.
- Deep Reduce, a next-generation data reduction engine, uses advanced pattern recognition and similarity-based reduction technologies to improve efficiency, delivering high data reduction ratios without significant performance tradeoffs. It is expected to be generally available in the first half of fiscal year 2027.
- The continuing expansion of Pure Storage’s next-gen FlashArray portfolio, with a new FlashArray//XL 190 in the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2026, and new FlashArray//X R5 and FlashArray//C R5 models that are both generally available today.
