A Virginia-based managed IT and cloud services company is expanding into the telecom industry through acquisition.

Ntiva Inc., which has a footprint in Northern California and the District of Columbia, has acquired full-service telecom provider IN Communications Inc.

“As the world of IT and telephony converge, Ntiva recognizes the importance of being able to offer clients a single source to turn to for all the core technology services they need to ensure business success,” Ntiva stated in a press release.

“We intentionally acquired true talent and expertise to integrate into our overall offerings, and plan to further develop our service packages and processes for seamless delivery of voice and data services,” said Steven Freidkin, CEO of Ntiva.

This is Ntiva's third acquisition since its inception. The earlier deals involved smaller IT consultancy firms, said Holly Dowden, vice president of marketing, in an email.

More deals could be coming. “As we continue to develop our scalable delivery model, we intend to look for more strategic acquisitions to align us to specific industry verticals and enter new geographic markets,” she added.

Ntiva, launched in 2004, has more than 120 employees and 500-plus clients. Key partners include Dell, Microsoft, Cisco, Datto, Google and others, according to information on its website.

Ntiva and IN Communications have eight years of prior history together, a press release from the companies stated.

Mark Wasser, owner and president of IN Communications, shifts to VP of business development at Ntiva. He'll focus on VOIP telephony solutions with Ntiva’s IT services for commercial clients in the District of Columbia area.

Wasser will work out of the Ntiva’s corporate headquarters in McLean, Virginia. Ntiva also has offices in Beverly Hills, California.
