NinjaOne Adds macOS MDM to Streamline Cross-Platform Endpoint Management

secure mobile device management and data protection measures

NinjaOne has expanded its endpoint management capabilities with the launch of mobile device management (MDM) support for macOS. The update enables IT teams and managed service providers (MSPs) to manage macOS devices alongside Windows, Linux, iOS, iPadOS, and Android endpoints from a unified platform, eliminating the need for multiple tools to support mixed operating system environments.

“Mac devices are becoming more popular across organizations, creating challenges for IT teams and MSPs responsible for managing and securing these mixed OS environments,” said Rahul Hirani, Chief Product Officer at NinjaOne. “Historically, MSPs and IT teams have had to choose between specialized Mac management solutions (frequently requiring additional resources, expertise, and disconnected tools) and compromising on Mac functionality as part of their Windows/Linux endpoint management tool.”

The use of macOS in business environments has grown steadily, but IT teams have often struggled with tool fragmentation and inconsistent workflows. Managing Macs typically required separate solutions or specialized staff, increasing operational complexity, cost, and risk. By integrating macOS MDM directly into the NinjaOne platform, teams can now apply the same workflows, policies, and automations across all major operating systems.

“NinjaOne MDM for macOS allows IT teams and MSPs to manage patching, configuration, software installation, and remote support for all endpoints from one place,” Hirani added. “The solution is natively integrated into our broader endpoint management platform, allowing customers to manage Macs with the same level of control, accuracy, and ease they rely on for Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android devices. Unlike piecemeal add-ons, NinjaOne MDM for macOS is a unified, full-spectrum Mac management tool that’s purpose-built for modern IT operations.”

With this update, IT administrators can automate patching, enforce device configurations, deploy applications, and offer remote support for macOS devices using the same interface they use for other endpoints. This uniformity simplifies compliance, reduces blind spots, and boosts team productivity by consolidating tasks and minimizing training requirements.

“Organizations are managing more endpoints than ever before,” Hirani noted. “This is fueled by a wave of remote and hybrid work and further complicated by the continued evolution and adoption of generative AI. Amid this growth, many IT teams and MSPs struggle to keep pace due to fragmented environments and disconnected tools, which increases security risks and complicates compliance.”

The macOS MDM capabilities are fully integrated into NinjaOne’s broader endpoint management and automation suite, allowing organizations to scale their device management strategy without adding new tools or processes. For MSPs, it also opens the door to more standardized service offerings across client environments with diverse device fleets.

“NinjaOne MDM for macOS both unifies tooling and improves efficiency,” Hirani said. “MSPs today are drowning in tools, alerts, and a widening endpoint estate – and it’s only getting more challenging. As organizations continue to integrate Macs into their work environments, MSPs need to simplify how they manage a mix of Windows, macOS, Linux, and mobile devices.”

With NinjaOne MDM for macOS, MSPs can manage all endpoints from a single platform across operating systems, resulting in faster response times, fewer manual tasks, and better visibility across client environments. This allows them to simplify everything from onboarding and patching to remote support – freeing up MSPs to deliver more value without adding complexity or cost.
