FlexPoint has launched AR Agents, a new set of AI-powered tools built for MSP back-office operations. The first release focuses on accounts receivable, where MSPs often spend time chasing payments, answering invoice questions, and matching deposits to invoices. The company says the agents can manage parts of the invoice-to-cash process. They can monitor client accounts, send payment reminders, respond based on account history, and flag when a human should step in. FlexPoint says the agents can also reach customers through multiple channels, including email and voice calls.Victor Lopez, co-founder and CEO of FlexPoint, told ChannelE2E that the company sees a broader AI opportunity in MSP operations beyond the service desk.“Most of the conversation has been around making technicians more efficient, reducing ticket volume and improving service operations,” Lopez said. “From our standpoint, the opportunity is bigger than service delivery. We think there is also a lot of leverage in using AI for the MSP back office.”
That back-office work includes billing, collections, invoice creation, payment follow-up, payroll, and other operational tasks that often fall on the MSP owner. For smaller and midsize MSPs, those jobs can be hard to keep up with, especially when the same person managing client relationships is also chasing overdue invoices.
How the AR agents work
Lopez said the agents can monitor client accounts and adjust outreach based on the customer relationship. A VIP account may need a different tone and cadence than a client who is regularly late. The agents can send emails, place phone calls, and handle conversations about past-due invoices and invoice details. However, client communication is where the trust question gets more serious. Lopez said FlexPoint is seeing a split reaction from MSPs. Some view collections as a white-glove interaction and are not ready to have an AI agent call customers. Others want to start using the agents quickly because the business owner is already handling those reminders manually.
To address that, FlexPoint is offering co-pilot and fully autonomous modes. In co-pilot mode, the MSP reviews and approves the agent’s recommended action before it happens. In autonomous mode, the agent carries out the task, and the MSP reviews the result afterward.“We recommend that most customers start with co-pilot mode,” Lopez said. “It helps them build trust. They can begin with a small set of clients, approve a few personalized emails, and then gradually expand usage as they get more comfortable.”Lopez also said the agents are designed for transparency with customers. If a person asks whether they are speaking with an AI agent, the agent will identify itself and explain that it is working on behalf of the MSP.
Faster payments depend on the full workflow
FlexPoint said the agents can help accelerate payments, but Lopez said the results should be viewed in the context of the full platform. The company already offers accounts receivable automation, payment processing, same-day ACH, and tools that help MSPs move customers away from checks and into faster payment methods. The AI agents add another layer of follow-up and communication.“We are not saying the AR agent alone produces that result,” Lopez said. “It is the combination of standard automation, payment processing, and AI-driven follow-up.”Some teams track late payments in spreadsheets and follow up when they have time. Others delay uncomfortable collection calls because they have long-standing relationships with clients. FlexPoint is trying to turn that inconsistent follow-up into a repeatable workflow. The launch also sits alongside a broader push by PSA and MSP software vendors to add more automation to daily operations. Lopez said much of the AI work inside PSA platforms is still focused on service delivery, including ticket triage, technician workflows, and service operations.“Our belief is that back-office work is different,” Lopez said. “Most MSP owners do not want to spend time on collections, invoicing, or payment follow-up. If you asked MSP owners whether they want to call clients about past-due invoices, most would say no.”FlexPoint said AR Agents are the first in a broader series of AI agents it plans to build for MSP back-office operations. The company is starting with accounts receivable because payment delays are a common operational pain point for MSPs, and because the work is repetitive enough to benefit from automation while still requiring control, context, and visibility.
