MSPs get a simpler way to deploy network security

MSPs are managing something more every day - more security tools, more customer devices, and more remote users than ever. And every new tool adds more work for the team that has to deploy, manage, and support it.

Nord Security and Acronis are trying to make that easier. The companies announced a partnership that brings NordLayer into Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud. With this integration, MSPs can deploy the NordLayer security agent from the Acronis platform. That means they do not have to install NordLayer manually for every customer or jump between platforms for basic rollout work.

Mike Vogel, director of channel sales, North America, at Nord Security, told ChannelE2E, “MSPs are at the center of everything we do, and we understand the pressure they face - protecting customers from increasingly sophisticated threats while keeping operations lean and efficient. This integration with Acronis directly addresses that challenge. By embedding NordLayer deployment into the Acronis console, MSPs can automate rollout across their entire client base without manual installations or jumping between platforms - time savings that add up significantly at scale.”

The companies said MSPs can also get NordLayer through an Acronis and NordLayer bundle with preferred pricing.

Why the integration matters

For MSPs, the value is in less setup work. Many MSPs already use Acronis to protect customer endpoints and data. Adding NordLayer inside that workflow gives them a way to add network security without building a separate process from scratch.

That can help when an MSP supports many small and midsize customers. A manual setup might be manageable for one customer. It becomes harder when the same work has to be repeated across many tenants, devices, and users.

This is where the integration helps MSPs also protect margins. Less manual work means technicians can spend less time on setup and more time on customer support, monitoring and service improvement.

A broader managed security bundle

MSPs now also get a way to talk to customers about security in a simpler way. Instead of selling endpoint protection and network security as separate tools, MSPs can position the bundle as part of a broader managed security offer. That kind of offer can cover users, devices and access.

“MSPs should position this bundle as a first step toward a unified, natively integrated cyber protection strategy,” Vogel said. “The goal is to help MSPs build a comprehensive managed security offering. This allows MSPs to offer cyber resilience that covers users, devices, and access through a single, streamlined solution.”

For MSPs, the bundle can become an add-on to an existing security package or part of a higher-level managed security plan. And this also works well for customers with remote workers, hybrid teams or users who need access to cloud applications from different locations, who need more endpoint protection, including safer access to company systems and data.

Reducing tool sprawl

MSPs often add new tools as customer needs grow. Over time, that can create tool sprawl. Technicians may have to manage different dashboards, pricing models, support contacts and reporting tools. Nord Security and Acronis are positioning this integration as a way to reduce that problem.

“This initial integration is specifically designed to combat tool sprawl,” Vogel said. “The collaboration combines complementary capabilities to help partners reduce the number of individual tools they need to maintain. By unifying network and endpoint management, the solution aims to simplify cybersecurity operations and create a more efficient, integrated environment for the MSP.”

Tool sprawl can slow down service delivery and makes it harder for MSPs to train staff, respond to customer issues and keep service quality consistent.

What stays inside Acronis

The companies said the integration lets MSPs handle NordLayer deployment from the Acronis platform. MSPs can use Acronis for basic rollout and daily work, while NordLayer remains the place for more detailed network security settings. Vogel said MSPs can use Acronis for daily management while using NordLayer for deeper network settings.

“MSPs can handle the deployment of the NordLayer security agent and manage security across their entire client base directly from the Acronis platform - with a toggle-ready setup designed to minimize time outside the Acronis console for daily security management,” Vogel said. “The partnership has been specifically built to bridge NordLayer’s network security capabilities with core Acronis products, prioritizing ease and efficiency for MSPs.”

He added that “deep-dive NordLayer-specific network configurations will still be managed within the NordLayer environment.”

Nord Security said this is the start of a larger relationship with Acronis.

“This integration is just the beginning of our relationship with Acronis,” Vogel said. “We see this partnership as a foundation, and we are actively looking at additional integrations and automation opportunities that will continue to reduce friction in how MSPs deliver cybersecurity services to their customers.”

The Nord Security and Acronis partnership simplifies a persistent MSP problem: too many tools and too much manual work. By adding NordLayer deployment into Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud, the companies are giving MSPs a way to add network security to existing cyber protection workflows. That could help partners build stronger managed security offers without adding as much operational burden.
