Lumifi Cyber Acquires Netsurion for MDR, XDR, US SOC

Lumifi Cyber Inc. has acquired Netsurion, a managed extended detection and response (XDR) provider, for an undisclosed sum.

The move is aimed at bolstering Lumifi’s security offerings through its U.S.-based security operations center and proprietary SHIELDVision platform.

Lumifi Cyber, founded in 2009, is based in Scottsdale, Arizona. The company has 81 employees listed on LinkedIn. Lumifi’s areas of expertise include cybersecurity, rapid remediation, threat response, and MDR.

Netsurion, founded in 2009, is based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The company has 241 employees listed on LinkedIn. Netsurion’s areas of expertise include managed detection and response, MDR, co-managed SIEM, threat hunting, compliance support, advanced threat protection, and XDR.

Strategic Goals

Lumifi’s proprietary SHIELDVision platform, built on the Gartner Visibility Triad, also known as the SOC Visibility Triad supports its team of experts from the U.S. Military, DoD, and Fortune 500 companies. 

“For years, Lumifi has developed proprietary technology unique to the MDR use case, and we can’t wait to bring that to our newest clients,” said David Norlin, CTO of Lumifi.

The company's security operations center is staffed by U.S.-based analysts, ex-military, and former DoD security experts.

Prior Acquisitions

This marks Lumifi’s third acquisition since 2022 and its second in the past twelve months. Previously, Lumifi acquired Castra in October of last year, successfully integrating its clients into Lumifi’s technology.

With the acquisition of Netsurion, Lumifi gains additional engineers, customer success and sales associates, technical account managers, and 400 new clients. This acquisition also supports Lumifi’s strategic goal to become a leader in the MDR space, according to the company.
