From AI factories and agentic hybrid operations to new data protection partnerships with Veeam and Commvault, HPE is scaling its portfolio to meet enterprise demand for secure, intelligent, and resilient IT environments. At HPE Discover 2025, the company introduced a series of partnerships and initiatives aimed at aligning with the evolving demands of modern infrastructure.

HPE Reframes the AI Infrastructure Playbook

HPE has outlined a multi-pronged approach to scaling enterprise AI, from compute and storage to software and partner ecosystems. A centerpiece of this strategy is the expanded “AI factory” portfolio, built in partnership with NVIDIA. The latest solutions integrate NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs, HPE’s Alletra Storage MP X10000, and air-gapped, composable architectures for model builders, sovereign entities, and enterprise AI teams.

A notable addition is the HPE Compute XD690, a new system supporting eight Blackwell Ultra GPUs, designed for high-density, high-performance environments. This is complemented by the Alletra X10000’s planned integration with the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to improve unstructured data handling across AI pipelines. HPE also introduced turnkey Private Cloud AI offerings with investment protection features, multi-tenancy support, and NVIDIA AI Blueprint integrations for workloads such as agentic and physical AI.

GreenLake Intelligence Signals Shift to Agentic Operations

HPE is also pushing its hybrid cloud platform toward autonomous, context-aware operations. Under the new GreenLake Intelligence framework, agentic AIOps capabilities are being rolled out across networking, compute, storage, and sustainability layers. These agents are designed to reason in real time, reduce manual overhead, and accelerate issue remediation.

Notable updates include:

  • A new agentic mesh within Aruba Networking Central, providing root cause analysis and guided remediation.
  • An expanded OpsRamp operations copilot, now capable of coordinating full-stack infrastructure alerts and recommendations.
  • Enhancements to Alletra Storage MP X10000 that tie into agentic workflows using MCP servers for dynamic data orchestration.
  • GreenLake Intelligence also introduces unified tools for workload optimization, cost management, and sustainability forecasting, along with new financing options to reduce upfront investment barriers.

Doubling Down on Data Resilience with Veeam and Commvault

Security and availability remain critical as organizations deploy more distributed and virtualized infrastructure. HPE is addressing these needs by deepening integration with both Veeam and Commvault.

With Veeam, HPE is adding image-based backup capabilities to its Morpheus VM Essentials software. This integration supports multi-hypervisor environments and reduces VM licensing costs, while Veeam Kasten extends backup to containerized workloads. Together, the companies are introducing a “Data Resilience by Design” framework to help enterprises embed cyber resilience into hybrid IT strategies.

On the Commvault front, the partnership focuses on strengthening ransomware protection and recovery across hybrid environments. Commvault Cloud platform will incorporate HPE Zerto Software for near-zero RPOs and RTOs. Joint solutions include snapshot-based geographic redundancy, immutable storage options, and advanced threat scanning, all aimed at maintaining operational continuity.

Taken together, these announcements point to HPE’s broader goal: delivering converged infrastructure and intelligent operations that help enterprises scale securely and efficiently across AI and hybrid cloud environments. Whether through AI factory builds, agentic IT automation, or resilient data protection frameworks, the company is working to streamline complexity across the stack - while relying on deep technology partnerships to extend value for customers navigating modernization at scale.
