Fusiontek, a managed services provider (MSP), has acquired Amarok, an Issaquah-based MSP with a dedicated in-house software development team. The move marks Fusiontek’s third acquisition in the past year and reflects a focused effort to expand its ability to deliver tailored IT and data solutions beyond traditional managed services.

Bringing Custom Development into the MSP Model

While many MSPs concentrate on infrastructure, security, and user support, Amarok brings something different: a proven ability to develop custom applications that help businesses make smarter decisions with data. By combining forces, Fusiontek is now positioned to meet a broader set of client needs, ranging from day-to-day IT operations to complex software-driven initiatives.

“We have always been a managed services provider first, but we recognize that custom solutions that help create data-driven decisions are what organizations are looking for—and with the emergence of AI, they're more eager than ever,” said Brian Miller, CEO and Founder of FusionTek. “That is where Amarok comes in. Our services are complementary to one another, and this will benefit our clients greatly.”

With Amarok’s in-house development team joining Fusiontek, clients will gain access to services such as:

  • Custom application development
  • Cloud and systems integration
  • Workflow automation
  • AI-powered analytics and dashboards
  • Bespoke solutions designed to support business operations
  • "While we have a great managed service team, Amarok's in-house development team brings more to the table because they are already bringing custom solutions to the clients they serve,” Miller added. “Some of their notable work includes helping clients streamline employee training, providing deeper shopping analytics, and managing their supply chains – all using data. With Amarok, we can now offer clients services such as these, allowing us to take on creative projects from concept design to implementation, in addition to providing their day-to-day IT support. With the additional resources Fusiontek offers, we hope to amplify their talent and bring their solutions to more businesses.”

The acquisition also strengthens Fusiontek’s local service capabilities. With Amarok’s offices in Issaquah and Bellingham, Fusiontek now supports over 70% of Washington’s population, from Canada to Olympia.

"Through this acquisition, we are also better positioned to provide on-site service to business populations between Canada and Olympia, with employees now located throughout the region,” Miller stated.

Integration is already underway, and Fusiontek is approaching the process with care and transparency.

“As this marks our third acquisition in the past year, we recognize the potential challenges of integration. However, our commitment to maintaining exceptional service standards remains our paramount concern as we expand,” Miller shared. “To ensure a smooth transition, we've proactively introduced the teams and communicated with clients early on, clearly setting expectations for all involved. We are pleased that there is a shared enthusiasm for the potential of our combined efforts.”

A Strategic Shift for Scalable Innovation

The combined expertise of both companies is expected to help Fusiontek scale its service offerings to meet rising client demand for integrated, flexible, and data-driven technology solutions.

“While our service offerings aren't identical, this acquisition brings exciting opportunities,” said Miller. “Many businesses are looking forward to benefiting from enhanced technical support on the managed services side and more customizable solutions overall. We are confident that this strategic move will ultimately strengthen our ability to deliver outstanding value to our clients.”

The acquisition underscores the evolving role of MSPs in today’s IT landscape — where infrastructure and operations are only part of the equation, and custom development, data intelligence, and business context are just as critical.
