A. Today’s Tech, Channel and MSP News

1. Automation for MSPs - MSP platform provider ConnectWise is hosting Automation Nation 2024 this week at its headquarters in Tampa, Florida, and has added new functionality to its lineup to enhance what it calls hyperautomation. It includes the ability to more easily search the RPA bot system, an enhanced onboarding process, improved limitations, and streamlined device and client management.  More on this soon.

2. SonicWall expands MDR - SonicWall is adding endpoint vendors to its managed detection and response (MDR) solution to create a co-managed security service for new and existing MSPs that offer SonicWall Capture Client or Windows Defender. SonicWall is expanding to also include solutions from SentinelOne and Cylance as part of an open ecosystem approach for MSPs. 

3. IGEL rolls out MSP program - Secure endpoint provider IGEL is rolling out a new MSP partner program and MSP service models for the IGEL platform, which enables secure access for VDI, DaaS, SaaS and secure browsing use cases. The new IGEL MSP partner program features both multi-tenant and single-tenant deployment options to serve varying customer requirements.

4. Cohesity to buy Veritas data protection business - U.S. data security software firm Cohesity has agreed to acquire Veritas' data protection business in a deal that values the business at over $3 billion including debt. The firms together have $1.6 billion in annual revenue. San Jose, California-based Cohesity's AI-powered software helps organizations protect and manage their data against cybersecurity threats.(Reuters

5. Acquisition targets managed wireless, geographies - OptConnect, a longtime provider of managed wireless services acquired Latin America-based M2M DataGlobal, one of the largest and most professionally run IoT organizations in Latin America. Together these businesses create a premier managed wireless connectivity platform of scale, capable of supporting customers across a broad spectrum of industries and solution needs throughout North and South America.
