MSP Acquires Web Developer: Atiba Buys General Proximity

Atiba Software, a combination MSP and Web software developer, has acquired General Proximity, a custom web development and hosting service provider that supports health care and wellness customers, according to Nashville Business Journal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Atiba Acquires General Proximity: Buyer Background

Atiba positions itself as a one-stop shop for strategic Web design and development, CIO consulting services and business intelligence, custom software development, mobile app development, IT support, network services and security. The company also positions itself as a leading consultant for Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure deployments.

Both Atiba and General Proximity are headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. Through organic growth and acquisitions. Atiba has expanded its Network Services division into Huntsville, Alabama and Chattanooga, Tennessee. Earlier acquisitions include Cabedge Design in 2011 and Wheelhouse Marketing Advisors in 2016.

Atiba Software Founder JJ Rosen appears to have extensive M&A experience -- including an angel investor-type mindset, according to this Venture Nashville Connections profile of Rosen from 2011.

This is the second M&A deal since November 2019 that blends MSP and Web development expertise. The other involved Alliance Technologies buying Tuva Interactive.
