5 Channel Partner Updates: Thursday 20 September 2018

Here are five technology news updates, insights, chatter, and plenty more to start your day for Thursday, September 20, 2018.

Actually, there are 12 timely updates designed for VARs, managed services providers (MSPs), cloud services providers (CSPs), independent software vendors (ISVs), telco master agents and telco agents to sip on. Take a look:

12. IT Monitoring: Centreon Software Systems a provider of IT infrastructure monitoring solutions, has launched North American operations. Company co-founder Romain Le Merlus is now CEO for the North American operations; co-founder and former CTO Julien Mathis is CEO, Europe.

11. Cloud Migrations: Turbonomic, which specializes in workload automation for hybrid clouds, has introduced new capabilities to assess, ease and optimize migrations to Microsoft Azure.

10. Cloud-Managed SMB Networks: Linksys has unveiled Linksys Cloud Manager, a cloud-hosted WiFi Management Platform purpose-built for small business environments. The solution offers centralized visibility, management and control of a wireless network.

9. Rubrik Partner Program: Rubrik, a fast-growing cloud storage and data protection specialist, has launched the Rubrik Velocity Partner Program.

8. M&A - Call Center Services: Vonage has acquired privately-held NewVoiceMedia, a cloud Contact Center-as-a-Service (CCaaS) provider.  The $350 million acquisition combines Vonage's UCaaS and CPaaS solutions with NewVoiceMedia's pure-play cloud contact center offerings.

7. Email Security Bundle: Barracuda Networks has unveiled the Total Email Protection bundle. It includes Barracuda Essentials, Sentinel and PhishLine.

6. Talent - Alert Logic: Security as a service provider Alert Logic has hired Christopher Rajiah as senior VP of worldwide alliances and partnerships. Rajiah previously held key executive posts at Equinix, ViaWest and Rackspace.

5. Integration - Box and Oracle NetSuite: Box has unveiled an "enhanced" integration with Oracle's NetSuite platform. The integration offers:

  • Improved folder and permissions mapping and a new nested folder structure.
  • Freedom from root parent folders, which provides the ability to associate any existing Box folder with a NetSuite record.
  • New folder naming conventions, which enable Box folders to be directly mapped and named based on NetSuite records.

4. Apple Device Management: Jamf has acquired Nomad, a solution for Mac authentication and account management.
