1Password has taken a direct step into the managed services channel with the launch of its Enterprise Password Manager – MSP Edition on the Pax8 Marketplace. The move opens the door to more than 40,000 MSPs worldwide, giving them a dedicated tool to secure access, protect client data, and streamline operations in increasingly complex environments.

The new MSP Edition is built to address the access and credential security challenges MSPs face every day - especially as work becomes more distributed, devices and SaaS apps multiply, and AI plays a larger role in daily operations. By joining the Pax8 Marketplace, 1Password is making its purpose-built solution available to partners in the Americas, EMEA, and APAC, embedded within a platform MSPs already use to source, provision, and manage client solutions.

Meeting Modern Access Security Needs

For MSPs, securing identity and access has never been more critical. Credential-related issues remain one of the top causes of data breaches, accounting for nearly a quarter of incidents in 2025.

"It starts with security,” Lori Cornmesser, VP of Channel & Alliance Sales at 1Password told ChannelE2E. "We’re the only password manager that uses dual-key encryption - combining a user’s account password and a locally generated Secret Key - to keep data safe, even in the event of a breach. Features like Secure Remote Password (SRP), advanced MFA options, and granular permissions add even more protection against unauthorized access.”

Cornmesser added that operational efficiency is just as important as security. "With an intuitive, centralized console for multi-tenant management, MSPs can onboard clients, configure policies, and monitor usage from one place. Integrations with Entra ID, Okta, JumpCloud, and SIEM tools like Microsoft Sentinel streamline workflows, while our billing model - consumption-based, no license minimums, invoicing in arrears—aligns with how MSPs run their businesses.”

Supporting Cyber Insurance and Compliance Goals

The rise in cyber insurance requirements and stricter compliance frameworks like SOC 2 and ISO 27001 has created new challenges for MSPs. Insurers now look for proof of MFA and strong access controls before issuing coverage.

"Cyber insurance and compliance standards are becoming more rigorous, and MSPs are often expected to demonstrate strong credential hygiene,” Cornmesser said. "Our MSP Edition helps meet those requirements with breach monitoring, access controls, and detailed reporting, making it easier to maintain credential hygiene, simplify audit prep, and show readiness across every tenant.”

Multi-tenant management also allows MSPs to track activity, flag risks, and produce audit reports on demand, capabilities that are becoming essential as insurers and regulators place more weight on credential security.

A Strategic Role in the Pax8 Ecosystem

In a crowded identity and password security market, many tools are embedded in broader XDR or UEM platforms. Cornmesser said 1Password’s role in Pax8 goes beyond technical features.

"Our partnership with Pax8 reflects a shared commitment to helping MSPs grow and succeed,” she said. "We’re meeting partners where they already work and delivering a solution built for their day-to-day reality. As agentic AI reshapes how tasks are performed and access is granted, our MSP solution strengthens client security posture and productivity while helping partners stand out as trusted cybersecurity advisors.”

Cornmesser noted that this launch is a starting point. "We’re continuing to invest in training, co-marketing, and enablement so partners can grow with us and lead their clients through a new era of identity, automation, and access security."

Expanding MSP Capabilities in a Changing Landscape

As hybrid work, AI adoption, and distributed infrastructures become the norm, MSPs need solutions that adapt as quickly as the threat landscape shifts. With the MSP Edition, 1Password aims to give partners a practical, scalable way to protect identities, reduce risk, and meet the growing demands of clients across industries. By integrating with Pax8’s global marketplace, the company has made that capability more accessible to MSPs looking to expand their security portfolios and sharpen their competitive edge.
