Good morning, channel partners. Here are five technology news updates, insights, chatter, and plenty more to start your day for Monday, April 10, 2017.

Actually, there are 11 updates for VARs, managed services providers (MSPs), cloud services providers (CSPs), independent software vendors (ISVs), telco master agents and telco agents to sip on.

11. Ciber Goes Bankrupt: Ciber, the IT services provider, has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy protection. Capgemini is bidding for the company's North American and India assets. Here's what happened.

10. Managed Security Services: Asgent will leverage Coronet's network security capabilities as part of a managed security service, the two companies have confirmed. Available immediately, Asgent’s new “SecurityPlus Wireless Security Service by Coronet" enables users of mobile devices to more securely access Wi-Fi hotspots and mobile phone base stations, and is targeted at the large enterprise and governmental sectors, the companies said.

9. Argo Marketing vs. iYogi: Argo Marketing has won a lawsuit against iYogi, the embattled IT service provider, according to an Argo Marketing representative. The big questions: Does iYogi still exist, and can Argo collect on the lawsuit? We're checking.

8. Security Consulting Startup: Larry Blumenfeld, David Willson and Charles Tendell have launched Cyber Security Integration, a consulting firm in Wilmington, North Carolina, focused on  liability and risk assessment, vulnerability and penetration testing, and plenty more.

7. Talent - Storage: Western Digital has named Phil Bullinger senior vice president and general manager, Data Center Systems (DCS) Business Unit. Bullinger previously was senior VP and GM at Dell EMC, responsible for the Isilon business, including strategy, product planning, engineering and business operations.

6. Channel Chief: CoreSite Realty Corp. a provider of data center and interconnection solutions across the U.S., has hired Rackspace and Level 3 veteran Dave Biermann as VP of channel and alliances.

5. M&A - Printing Services: Image Printing has acquired Knight Printing. Both companies are based in North Dakota. Financial terms were not disclosed. Crescenda Merger & Acquisition Advisors assisted the deal.

4. M&A - Distribution Part I: Ingram Micro has acquired Network Information Technology (NIT), a distributor of physical security solutions in the MEA (Middle East and Africa) region. NIT’s current management team will operate as a business unit of Ingram Micro META (Middle East, Turkey & Africa), the company said. NIT, launched in 1994, offers IP surveillance and security solutions. Financial terms were not disclosed.

3. M&A - Distribution Part II: ScanSource has acquired Kingcom’s channel business assets and associated support organization. The result: ScanSource's subsidiary, Intelisys, is positioned to sell communication solutions through the Verizon Partner Program (VPP). Financial terms were not disclosed.

2. AT&T Open Source Networks: AT&T is testing network infrastructure based on white box hardware and open source software. The approach could potentially threaten traditional network hardware providers. In response, companies like Cisco Systems may decouple their software from hardware sales -- allowing proprietary code to run on any underlying hardware.
