SmartDog Services has focused on Oracle software since 1990. Apps Associates specializes in cloud database migrations and managed services wrapped around Amazon Web Services (AWS), Salesforce, and specifically Oracle deployments.
Indeed, much of Apps Associates’ work has involved Oracle customer migrations to AWS, though Oracle-centric deployments also remain key to the company.

Apps Associates Private Equity Backing
Private equity firm BV Investment Partners acquired majority control of Apps Associates in December 2017, though Apps Associates said at the time that it would maintain “considerable ownership” in the business.
The firm has more than 800 employees spread across the United States, Europe, and India, and nearly 200 active enterprise customers serving a variety of industries including life sciences, manufacturing and distribution, technology, and business services industries. SmartDog Services' employees will all join Apps Associates, the company confirmed to ChannelE2E.
Oracle, Salesforce, AWS Partner Acquisitions
M&A activity involving cloud-centric Oracle partners has remained strong and steady. Some of the deals ChannelE2E has tracked include:
- GSD Company, a Salesforce partner, acquired Audaxium, an Oracle NetSuite cloud services consulting partner
- RDX acquired clckwrk Limited, a London-based Amazon Web Services expert and an Oracle Gold Partner.
- RSM UK acquiring First Hosted Limited (FHL), combining two Oracle NetSuite partners
- NTT acquired Oracle, SAP Partner Secure-24
- Lightwell acquiring Oracle and SAP Partner Baax for analytics know-how
