MSP Roots Give Rise to Managed Intelligence Provider

Born out of a Canadian MSP, MIPGlobal.ai is positioning itself as a new kind of partner focused on managed intelligence, reports CRN. The company was founded by Dan Mitchell and Sandy McGrath, both of Alt-Tech, but structured as an entirely separate entity. Their aim is to take the lessons learned in managed services and apply them to an emerging space where AI drives business outcomes rather than just IT management.

The managed intelligence concept first gained traction when Pax8 introduced it earlier this year as the next stage in the MSP evolution. Instead of focusing only on infrastructure and day-to-day IT operations, managed intelligence providers are expected to deliver transformation through AI adoption. MIPGlobal.ai is entering the market at this inflection point, offering solutions that go beyond automation to create virtual agents and integrated AI services tailored to business functions.

Early work spans legal, insurance, professional services, and manufacturing - industries where repetitive tasks and heavy data use make AI a natural fit. MIPGlobal.ai is targeting SMBs and midmarket companies directly, but it’s also building a channel program. That program allows other MSPs to tap into AI services without having to build capabilities in-house, giving partners a way to meet customer demand without the investment or risk of starting from scratch.

The team emphasizes a community-first approach, pointing to shared challenges and lessons from years in the MSP space. With no standard playbook for AI services yet, MIPGlobal.ai is building as it goes, leaning on experience and openness to collaboration. The model reflects a shift in how service providers see themselves - not just as technology partners, but as intelligence enablers helping businesses adopt AI in practical, measurable ways.
