Informatica Adds Microsoft Fabric Support and Opens Swiss Data Center

Informatica is extending its Microsoft partnership with two updates aimed at enterprise customers running data and AI workloads on Azure. The company announced general availability of Microsoft Fabric Open Mirroring support within its Intelligent Data Management Cloud (IDMC) platform, alongside a new Azure-based IDMC point-of-delivery launching in Switzerland. Both are squarely aimed at organizations that need more control over how data moves, where it lives, and whether it's actually ready for AI use.

The Fabric Open Mirroring support, available with the April 2026 IDMC release, lets customers sync data between Fabric OneLake and Fabric Data Warehouse through existing IDMC mass ingestion pipelines. The practical benefit is access to over 300 enterprise data sources without building separate pipelines or bolting on governance after the fact. Data quality, lineage, and master data management are applied as part of the ingestion process, which matters for teams that have learned the hard way that AI models are only as reliable as the data feeding them.

The Switzerland pod is about regulatory reality. European enterprises, particularly those operating under strict data residency laws, have historically had to work around cloud provider footprints that didn't align with local compliance requirements. The new Azure pod gives those customers a local processing option with the full IDMC capability stack, including governance, data quality, and MDM. It's also purchasable through Azure Marketplace and eligible to count toward Microsoft Azure Consumption Commitments, which simplifies procurement for organizations already working within Azure spend frameworks.

For enterprises building AI and analytics programs on Microsoft infrastructure, both updates address the same underlying problem: getting reliable, well-governed data to the right place without adding operational complexity. That's a practical concern for any organization that has invested in Microsoft Fabric and needs the data feeding it to actually be trustworthy.
