Broadwing Capital Launches MSP Platform with CloudScale365 Acquisition

Broadwing Capital has acquired CloudScale365, marking its entry into the IT managed services market, creating a new IT managed services platform aimed at small and mid-sized businesses. CloudScale365 brings a solid operating base to that strategy. The company provides fully managed and co-managed IT services, cloud and hosting support, infrastructure security, and Microsoft-centric solutions. Its customers span sectors such as financial services, healthcare, and legal, where reliability and compliance tend to drive buying decisions.

For Broadwing, this is less about a one-off acquisition and more about establishing a foundation. CloudScale365 offers an existing sales engine, long-standing customer relationships, and vertical experience that can support future growth, whether through expanded services or additional acquisitions. Starting with an operating core reduces the execution risk that often comes with building scale in services-heavy markets.

The leadership transition is designed to preserve continuity while setting up the next phase of growth. Founder Patrick Hannon is moving into a consulting role after more than a decade leading the business, while the rest of the management team remains in place. Broadwing has appointed Bret Kidd as chief executive officer, bringing in an operator with experience scaling IT services organizations across public and private equity-backed environments.

Looking ahead, the platform’s focus is practical rather than aspirational. Planned investments center on deeper cybersecurity capabilities, AI-enabled services that align with customer needs, and continued spending on infrastructure and support. For customers, the change is meant to feel incremental rather than disruptive. For the broader MSP market, the deal underscores how private equity interest is shifting toward platforms built for steady execution, not just rapid consolidation.
