Two PSA (professional services automation) software providers -- Computicate and Tigerpaw Software, respectively -- are preparing to activate a range of enhancements for MSPs and IT consulting firms.
Computicate, based in the Netherlands, continues to ramp up its expansion from Europe into the U.S. market. The company, which recently opened an office in Miami, is exploring a U.S. hire and/or distributor relationships, according to CEO Martijn van der Schaaf.
Computicate's PSA platform is a SaaS-based offering for small and midsize MSPs. An integration with Ninja MSP, the upstart remote monitoring and management software provider, is now in place, and multiple additional integrations are on the way. Computicate also is working with Microsoft's Office 365 team for CSP integrations.
The company will likely remain self-funded for the next two years or so, and may pursue venture capital sometime thereafter, van der Schaaf says.
Tigerpaw Software's Next PSA Moves
Tigerpaw Software, meanwhile, continues to refine its licensing and software delivery models.
As of January 1, 2017, Tigerpaw will no longer offer perpetual licenses and à la carte pricing to new customers. Instead, the company will promote Tigerpaw One to new clients. The offering is a subscription model that includes everything – core licenses, mobile and various add-ons, according to CEO James Foxall.
Existing Tigerpaw customers, meanwhile, won't be forced to make the migration. "We are actively moving clients that WANT to move from perpetual, piece-meal licensing to the all-inclusive Tigerpaw One," said Foxall. "We expected a lot to move, but we’re overwhelmed with the volume. As is Tigerpaw’s culture, we are offering a killer deal to our perpetual license holders that want to move, as a way of thanking them for their loyalty."
Tigerpaw Software: Hosted Edition
To date, the Tigerpaw One subscription model has been an on-premises offering. But the company also expects to launch a hosted edition in Q1.
"Of course, we are continuing to improve our platform as a whole and we just had updates to mobile and a massive update to create the best project management features in a PSA," Foxall asserts, referring to the 16.1 release. "Sure, I’m biased, but we did our homework!"
No doubt, competition within the PSA sector continues to intensify. Generally speaking, ConnectWise and Autotask remain the best-known PSA brands among MSPs serving SMB customers. But at least 20 different PSA providers have increasingly targeted MSPs. And multiple PSA market shifts are unfolding.
Still, Tigerpaw's customer base is pretty diverse -- supporting a range of technology solution providers beyond MSPs.
