Recently, I was poolside at my daughter’s swim meet, awaiting the one race I went to see. And all the while, my son (Micah) and husband were home working on Micah’s birthday present…
They were building a computer. Micah, who turned 12 this month, is our resident tech support. He is the one who knows how to program the TV, hook up the Firestick, jailbreak his phone and teach me shortcuts on mine. He manages my computer upgrades and makes sure the router is well placed for optimum WiFi across the house.
Thank goodness he’s here, otherwise ChannelE2E corporate headquarters likely wouldn’t run as smoothly…
And that was (another) moment where I realized my boy is so much smarter than I am. How cool is that?

Piecing It All Together
Anyway, back to the build out. Micah and my husband Larry bought all the parts to build a computer: a motherboard, a processor, a solid state drive, power supply, RAM, graphics card... well you get the point. And then, with Micah in the lead, and Larry assisting, they built a computer. Sidenote: I realize that many of our readers are technicians, and maybe you aren’t impressed. But I am NOT a technician. Not in the least. I love technology -- I’ve built a career around it -- but this is so far out of my realm. Micah texted me a couple photos of the finished product along with two words that made me swell with pride for my boy: “It Works!”
