AT&T (NYSE: T) plans to lay off an undisclosed number of managers before the end of 2016, according to The Dallas Morning News. The AT&T job cuts arrive as telecom companies worldwide continue to shift their business models away from legacy phone services and toward network-centric services.An AT&T spokesman did not say whether the number of layoffs would be in the hundreds or thousands, but described them as "relatively modest," the paper stated. CenturyLink (NYSE: CTL) in September announced plans to cut 3,500 employees -- or 8 percent of the company's workforce.
