RSM will acquire all of Explore Consulting’s assets, with the deal expected to close on July 1, subject to certain terms and conditions, the companies say.
RSM says the transaction adds almost 60 professionals to its team in the Pacific Northwest, growing its consulting practice and expanding its presence in the broader Seattle market. Explore Consulting’s NetSuite experience will also add to RSM’s technology and management consulting practice.
Bellevue, Washington-based Explore Consulting co-founders Steve Jones, CEO, and Jeremy DeSpain, COO, will join RSM as consulting principals and their full team will transition to RSM once the deal is complete.
“The size, depth, and breadth of our combined NetSuite practice will be a major force in the market, creating opportunities for our clients, our people, and our firms,” said Brian Becker, national consulting leader for RSM.
M&A activity in the MSP and IT consulting arenas has been red-hot lately with barely a day passing in which a new deal hasn’t been announced. Many of those deals have centered around Oracle NetSuite.
In December 2017, RSM’s UK branch acquired another NetSuite partner when it bought out First Hosted Limited. Just last month, NTT Communications finalized the buyout of Secure-24, an MSP that manages applications and database services for SAP, Microsoft, and Oracle customer environments. Before that, Evosys bought fellow Oracle partner Newbury Taleo Group.
Both RSM and Explore Consulting have consistently been top-ranked NetSuite partners. The firms say they will continue to provide middle market companies with NetSuite solutions for financial management, enterprise resource planning, customer relationship management systems, and e-commerce and digital marketing solutions.
