NTT DATA is expanding its investment in enterprise cloud transformation with the launch of a dedicated global business unit focused exclusively on Microsoft Cloud. The move reflects a broader shift across industries: organizations aren’t just migrating to the cloud - they’re rethinking how AI, compliance, and cloud-native development work together to drive long-term business outcomes.

The new unit brings together over 24,000 Microsoft certifications, operations in more than 50 countries, and deep technical expertise across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, and Dynamics 365. But beyond scale, the real differentiator is its close alignment with Microsoft’s own engineering and go-to-market teams, giving NTT DATA early access to emerging capabilities and a head start on co-developing real-world solutions.

Aishwarya Singh, Senior Vice President and Head of the Global Business Unit for Microsoft Cloud at NTT DATA told ChannelE2E, "NTT DATA’s Microsoft Cloud business unit stands out not only for its technical depth but for its close alignment with Microsoft’s global vision and its proven ability to navigate complex regulatory environments."

“Key differentiators include our deep co-innovation with Microsoft engineering teams, our active role in Sovereign Cloud specialization, and our global consistency in delivering outcomes - validated by 27 Advanced Specializations and our 500+ industry accelerators that reduce client time-to-market by 30%.”

A Unit Built for Real-World Demands

NTT DATA’s new global unit is structured to meet a specific set of enterprise needs that aren’t easily solved with generic solutions or surface-level cloud deployments. Enterprises are increasingly looking for partners who can combine AI, regulatory understanding, and industry-specific know-how into deployable, scalable solutions.

Here’s where NTT DATA is focusing its efforts:

  • Agentic AI at Scale: Deploying Microsoft 365 Copilot and Azure AI Foundry to orchestrate multi-agent workflows that improve real-time decision-making, automate repetitive tasks, and accelerate knowledge work.
  • Cloud Modernization: Migrating legacy systems and building new applications on Azure to reduce technical debt, enhance resilience, and improve agility.
  • Developer Enablement: Providing developers with a library of over 500 reusable microservices built on the NTT DATA Industry Cloud, helping teams accelerate cloud-native development and lower infrastructure costs.
  • Enhanced Digital Workplaces: Using Microsoft 365 and Dynamics 365 to create more collaborative employee environments and reimagined customer engagement experiences.
  • Sovereign Cloud and Compliance: Supporting data sovereignty and privacy needs in highly regulated sectors, such as finance, healthcare, and government—through deep specialization and regional delivery capabilities.

Strong Early Momentum in Agentic AI

The launch comes at a time when interest in agentic AI is moving from hype to execution. NTT DATA’s Agentic AI Services, built on Azure and Azure AI Foundry, have generated close to 100 enterprise opportunities in just 90 days.

“The early pipeline signals strong market demand, but our focus is on delivering measurable, scalable outcomes,” Singh said. “We’re tracking real-world impact through metrics like operational efficiency, revenue uplift from AI-driven services, and speed-to-value using agentic frameworks. Our AI factories are purpose-built to define and deliver ROI on these initiatives.”

Those AI factories, modular delivery models for designing and implementing AI agents, are core to NTT DATA’s approach. They allow clients to quickly stand up use cases, iterate fast, and build enterprise-grade AI systems that integrate directly into existing workflows.

Expanding the Ecosystem

NTT DATA also plans to scale its impact by working closely with regional partners, resellers, and independent software vendors.

“Our global unit has regional execution arms that work closely with local partners,” Singh added. “We’re setting up go-to-market motions with VARs and ISVs to ensure ecosystem alignment from strategy through delivery.”

This partner-centric approach is critical for achieving relevance across markets and industries, especially when client needs vary by geography and regulatory landscape.

The message is clear: NTT DATA is not looking to simply move workloads to the cloud. With this new unit, it’s targeting the broader enterprise mandate like modernizing operations, unlocking AI capabilities, and maintaining trust in environments where compliance, security, and speed all matter.
