HP Inc.'s Kim Rivera will be promoted to president, strategy and business management, effective January 1. She succeeds Interim Chief Operating Officer Cathie Lesjak, who disclosed her 2019 retirement plans in May 2018.

Multiple HP executives now carry the president title, reporting to overall HP President and CEO Dion Weisler. In addition to Rivera, the key lieutenants include:

  • Enrique Lores, president, imaging & printing
  • Christoph Schell, president, 3D printing & digital manufacturing

Rivera joined HP in 2015, responsible for legal, government relations, compliance and ethics. Previously she held key posts at DaVita HealthCare Partners, The Clorox Company; and Rockwell Automation's Automation Controls and Information Group.

In a prepared statement, HP President and CEO Dion Weisler said:

“Since joining HP, Kim has proven herself time and again not only as an expert in legal and policy areas, but as an essential advisor to our business and regional leadership team and Board of Directors. Her understanding of the entire organization combined with her ability to thoughtfully navigate highly complex issues have added tremendous value to our business."

The printer and PC company has been performing particularly well. HP's Q4 net revenue was $15.4 billion, up 10 percent from the corresponding quarter last year, the company said last week.
