The break-fix model for IT services is rapidly disappearing. The industry is moving to a proactive managed services approach. In fact, MSPs are expected to deliver 25 percent of the $4 Trillion that SMBs and large enterprises will spend on IT products and services globally by 2021, AMI Partners predicts.
Amid those market shifts, Focus Technology Solutions, a provider of complete business technology solutions, professional services and managed IT services, has acquired NSK Inc., an information technology consulting firm specializing in managed services. Both companies are located in Massachusetts. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Focus Technology Solutions specializes in Datacenter Infrastructure, Data Protection, Advanced Microsoft Solutions, Converged Infrastructure, Cloud and Automation, Networking, CyberSecurity and Professional Services. The company's key partners include Cisco Systems, Dell EMC and HP Enterprise. The company also is ahead of most partners on the analytics front, working closely with key players like Splunk.
NSK, meanwhile, is an MSP that apparently standardized on Continuum for outsourced monitoring and automation services. Other key partners include Axcient (business continuity) and AppRiver (Office 365 and security), according to the company's website. The company landed on the Inc. 5000 list in 2010. It sounds like Focus will absorb roughly 50 NSK employees -- including President Tim Lasonde.
