Effective Data and Cleo Expand Collaboration to Streamline Supply Chain Integration

Cleo and Effective Data are doubling down on a partnership that’s been two decades in the making, this time with a sharper focus on helping businesses keep pace with the complexity of today’s digital supply chains. The collaboration now integrates Cleo’s ecosystem integration platform with Effective Data’s deep EDI and B2B integration experience. The goal is to make it easier for companies to automate data exchange, connect with trading partners, and manage their operations across increasingly fragmented systems and workflows.

Faster Onboarding, Greater Visibility

“The renewed partnership between Cleo and Effective Data helps their customers navigate complex supply chains by giving Effective Data a cloud-based EDI/API integration solution to offer their current customers and new prospects,” said Rick Fryer, Channel Account Manager at Cleo to ChannelE2E. “In the past, Effective Data was limited to our legacy and on-premise solutions, but with this new partnership Effective Data can now offer our CIC platform to meet any complex supply chain requirements.”

For Effective Data, Cleo’s Integration Cloud has long served as a foundation for enhancing services across managed file transfer (MFT), API connectivity, ERP integration, and secure cloud data exchange. That foundation has helped clients across retail, manufacturing, logistics, and healthcare improve operational control and reduce manual touchpoints in high-volume environments.

With a growing number of integration platforms in the market, differentiation comes down to real-time capabilities and visibility. “This is the exact reason why Effective Data expanded their Cleo Partner relationship,” Fryer noted. “They needed a cloud-based, real-time orchestration and ecosystem solution to offer their clients. With CIC they can offer control, visibility, management, and persona-based access to meet their customers’ needs.”

New Paths for Innovation and Channel Growth

Cleo and Effective Data are also working on co-innovation in areas like AI-driven exception handling, automation, and low-code integrations. “Cleo will work with Effective Data to educate their teams on the innovations Cleo is incorporating AI into CIC,” Fryer shared. “This includes infusing AI/ML into our offerings to deliver better ecosystem relationship management, accelerating deployments through AI-driven onboarding and integration, and embedding AI across the entire product development life cycle.”

As more MSPs and channel partners look to offer integration-as-a-service, this partnership also opens new doors. “This expanded partnership creates the ability for Effective Data to continue to provide sales and services for our legacy products and increases sales/services opportunities to provide implementation services and managed services for new customers,” said Fryer.

Support for channel partners is built into the collaboration model. “When our Cleo Partners register an opportunity, they are provided with complete access to our Sales Teams to work together throughout the sales cycle,” Fryer added. “This includes Account Executives, Account Managers, Customer Success Representatives, Solution Architects, Customer Support, Service, etc.”

The partnership is built to scale, but it's also adaptable. Whether companies need full-service implementation or a hybrid approach that lets internal teams take the lead, the Cleo-Effective Data alliance offers a path forward. And as integration needs grow more specialized, the collaboration is positioned to evolve, one API, one data flow, one process at a time.
