Today’s Tech, Channel and MSP News

1. Sophos Makes Levy's CEO Role Official: Today, Sophos announced that Joe Levy has been named the permanent CEO of the company after serving as acting CEO since Feb. 15. Additionally, Jim Dildine has been named Sophos’ new chief financial officer (CFO). During his nine-year tenure at Sophos, Levy has driven Sophos’s transformation from a product-only vendor into a global cybersecurity giant with nearly 600,000 business customers worldwide and generating more than $1.2 billion in annual revenue, the company said in a statement. Levy’s vision for the future is focused on the midmarket and is committed to following CISA’s Secure By Design initiative which Sophos signed earlier this month.

2. Anomali's New VP of Global Channel Sales: AI-powered SecOps platform Anomali announced the appointment of Micheal McCollough as vice president of global channel sales. In this role, McCollough will help Anomali’s global partners modernize security operations and drive channel growth. He brings over two decades of international executive leadership experience, possessing a unique understanding of global markets, partner dynamics, and customer needs, the company said, with a track record of successful channel transformations at Imperva and Akamai. Anomali recently unveiled its leading AI-Powered security platform and omnipresent Copilot at RSA Conference.

3. HaloPSA and NinjaOne Integrations: HaloPSA and endpoint management solutions firm NinjaOne today announced an integration that brings together NinjaOne’s remote monitoring and management (RMM) product with HaloPSA’s professional services automation (PSA) software. Key integration benefits include faster resolution time, more efficient operations and service and extensive support.

4. Dell Hints at AI Announcements, Touts Channel Momentum: In an interview with CRN ahead of Dell Technologies World, CEO Michael Dell said the company’s fourth-quarter results show early success. Sales of its AI-optimized servers increased 40% over last quarter, and the company shipped $800 million worth of AI-optimized servers, according to CRN. “We have a blizzard of new announcements coming targeted just at that, and some great parts of our ecosystem are going to be there, including (Nvidia) CEO Jensen (Huang), again,” Dell told CRN. Our own Jessica C. Davis is on the ground in Las Vegas at Dell Technologies World, and we'll keep you updated as news comes in.

5. Bitwarden's Free 2FA App: MSP Today has a quick piece on Bitwarden's recently released standalone app for two-factor authentication to protect online services and applications from unauthorized access. The credential management provider recently launched Bitwarden Authenticator, which generates and stores time-based one-time passwords to allow all users to add a second verification layer across all accounts and devices for identity confirmation. Bitwarden Authenticator uses common industry standards to enable 2FA, which makes it more secure than older methods vulnerable to phishing, stolen codes or even stolen SIM cards. And the best part: It's free to download from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
