Channel Brief: SoftwareOne Appoints New CRO, Adlumin Adds New Security Features

(Getty Images)

Good morning, folks! Today, it's (mostly) about partnerships. We're looking at HPE's private cloud AI solution, developed with NVIDIA, that lets organizations keep the data used to fuel or develop LLMs in their own data center. Guardz is expanding into Canada through a partnership with iON United to deliver iON Guardian, a multilayered security platform based on the unified, AI-powered cybersecurity solution from Guardz. And Arrow Electronics is teaming up with Bitdefender to add endpoint protection and MDR services to bolster security offerings for Arrow MSP customers across key European markets.

In other news, SoftwareOne has a new CRO and SOC solutions provider Adlumin announced new ransomware prevention features.

Today’s Tech, Channel and MSP News

1. HPE, NVIDIA Team Up for On-Premises AI: At HPE Discover 2024 last week, HPE showcased its private cloud AI, a solution that lets organizations keep their data within their own data center. HPE teamed up with Nvidia to develop a complete hardware and software stack around the solution, which aims to address an issue that ... might not be an issue? Currently, as Techzine.eu reported, if you want to use or develop LLMs, you have to rely on hyperscalers for their infrastructure to do this quickly and efficiently. HPE wants to change that with its new Private Cloud AI solution, which it developed with Nvidia. All data can remain on-premises, whether you want to build LLMs, apply inferencing or deploy RAG. HPE has a variety of configurations that allow organizations to use AI very efficiently.

2. Adlumin Adds New Ransomware Protection Features: SOC solutions provider Adlumin has a new capability, Ransomware and Exfiltration Prevention, that the company said quickly detects and stops ransomware attackers from exfiltrating data. As we saw with the CDK Global attack last week, the majority of ransomware attackers now employing double-extortion techniques where they threaten to steal and leak sensitive data in addition to encrypting files until a ransom is paid, this new capability disrupts these activities before they can escalate into a full-blown attack. In addition to this new capability, Adlumin also launched a free tool that any organization can download to simulate data exfiltration associated with a ransomware attack and test the efficacy of their current defense.

3. SoftwareOne's New CRO: Software and cloud solutions reseller SoftwareOne announced that Raphael Erb will succeed Rohit Ngarajan as chief revenue officer (CRO) and executive board member, effective July 1, 2024. In his new position, Erb will oversee SoftwareOne's global revenue operations. Erb started at SoftwareOne in 1999 as a sales team leader and has over 25 years at the company. Most recently, he served as president of Asia Pacific, the company's fastest-growing region. His previous positions include head of services for German-speaking markets and country lead for Switzerland and Singapore.

4. Guardz Expands to Canada With iON Partnership: AI-powered cybersecurity company Guardz today announced its expansion into the Canadian market through a partnership with iON, one of Canada’s most trusted cybersecurity solution providers. Through the partnership, iON will provide its SMB customers with Guardz’s unified, AI-powered solution designed specifically for MSPs to protect SMBs with automated detection and response capabilities, ensuring the protection of all digital assets from rising cyber threats. iON is a Fulcrum IT Partners company.

5. Arrow and Bitdefender Expand Partnership With Endpoint and MDR: Arrow Electronics and Bitdefender today announced an expanded partnership to add endpoint protection and MDR services to bolster security offerings for Arrow MSP customers across key European markets. Arrow will incorporate Bitdefender GravityZone Cloud MSP Security Solutions, a multilayered security solution combining threat prevention, detection and response, options for MDR services, and á la carte add-ons depending on customers' needs. The partnership addresses growing demand for advanced yet customizable security across all environments (on premises, cloud and hybrid).
