A. Today’s Tech, Channel and MSP News

1. Milestone anniversary - The ASCII Group, the original MSP community of the channel, is celebrating  its 40th anniversary. The organization was founded in Washington DC in 1984 by entrepreneur Alan D. Weinberger, alongside 40 ex-franchisees of a software chain, ASCII provides support, resources, peer-to-peer education, and networking opportunities to IT professionals across North America while upholding a vendor-neutral stance.

2. Apple management updates - Jamf, a management solution for Apple ecosystem, is showcasing new offerings to help organizations provide a enterprise-secure, consumer-simple environment that protects personal privacy. They include a feature to allow admins to test an app version on a small group of devices, then choose which version to deploy at scale; streamlined enforcement of compliance and security benchmarks; privilege elevation in Jamf Connect for macOS; and balanced privacy reporting for Jamf Safe Internet.

3. Infrastructure partnership - High availability and disaster recovery provider SIOS Technology Corp. has joined the Nutanix Elevate Partner Program. The completion of the Nutanix Ready validation designation awarded to SIOS demonstrates SIOS LifeKeeper and DataKeeper’s high availability interoperability with the Nutanix infrastructure. 

4. ChannelCon headliner - Tech icon Kara Swisher  will headline CompTIA ChannelCon 2024, July 30-Aug. 1 in Atlanta. 

5. GenAI partnership - Best Buy will work with Google Cloud and Accenture to develop an AI-driven assistant to help its front-line employees serve customers, offering support on tasks such as finding internal Best Buy company resources or pulling up specific product guides.
