Caylent has added a new application modernization offering to its
Accelerate portfolio, expanding the company’s focus on helping enterprises update legacy systems with more speed and predictability. The new approach combines Caylent’s architectural expertise with coordinated fleets of AI agents that work across every stage of the software development lifecycle.
The system is built on Amazon Bedrock, AWS Transform, and Caylent’s own agentic orchestration framework. Instead of treating modernization as a series of disconnected tasks, it ties together code analysis, architectural planning, code generation, automated testing, and deployment in one continuous workflow.
Randall Hunt, CTO at Caylent, explained to ChannelE2E what sets this method apart: "Most AI-assisted tools focus on isolated tasks like scanning, translating, or upgrading code. Our approach uses coordinated fleets of AI agents, supervised by expert architects, to execute modernization across the entire SDLC. That includes feature decomposition and discovery, code generation, testing, CI/CD, and deployment. Like all Caylent Accelerate offerings, our agent fleets take a test-driven approach to this automation, defining and implementing acceptance tests before writing code. This allows our experts to delegate larger tasks to AI agents, execute more tasks in parallel, and focus their time on optimizing the system architecture for the AWS cloud. This produces production-ready outcomes and enables complex rewrites and refactors up to four times faster than traditional methods.”
How It Fits Into Caylent’s Larger Modernization Effort
This offering sits alongside Caylent’s existing programs for application modernization strategy, AI-SDLC enablement, and long-term managed services. The goal is to help enterprises modernize applications, prepare teams for AI-enabled engineering practices, and operate confidently on AWS.
Caylent’s relationship with AWS is also central to the design.
Hunt described how the new offering fits into that ecosystem: “Caylent Accelerate is delivered only through Caylent and is built by integrating Amazon Bedrock, AWS Transform, and third-party tools into a single agentic orchestration system. This integration demonstrates how these capabilities can form a governed, predictable modernization engine that strengthens the AWS ecosystem.”
Helping Teams Choose the Right Modernization Path
Many organizations struggle to decide whether a rewrite, refactor, or targeted extraction will give them the best long-term value. Caylent works with customers who have already made those decisions, but the company also supports teams that need help untangling a complex or aging environment.
Hunt described that process, “If customers already know which applications they want to modernize and how, we can move straight into execution using Caylent Accelerate. But many organizations don’t have that clarity, especially those with fragmented, tightly coupled, or aging portfolios. In those cases, we start with an Application Modernization Strategy engagement. Over 6-8 weeks, we analyze the full application portfolio, quantify pain points to determine the business value of modernizing each application, evaluate multiple modernization pathways, and build an executable roadmap with cost, timeline, and ROI.”
The strategy phase helps teams answer the practical questions that usually slow progress: which applications to prioritize, whether to rewrite or refactor, how to evaluate risk, and where AI-powered rewrites make financial sense.
As Hunt put it, “Only after that clarity do we recommend the right execution path, whether that’s an AI-powered rewrite or a measured refactor using AWS Transform, or strategic maintenance.”
With this launch, the Accelerate lineup now includes offerings for cloud migration, database modernization, and application modernization. Each one uses the same agentic delivery model to help organizations modernize faster while keeping governance and quality in place.
