Ingram Micro Cloud and Axcient veteran Jason Bystrak has joined D&H Distributing, ChannelE2E has confirmed. His new employer is a $4 billion company that's growing four times faster than the overall IT distribution market, according to D&H's market statements.
Bystrak is well-known for formulating and activating major pieces of Axcient's distribution and IT channel strategy for data protection services. Earlier, he spent a big chunk at his career helping Ingram Micro to build its managed and cloud services partner strategies. Many of his MSP-centric efforts at Ingram helped to shape the market long before managed IT services had gone mainstream with SMBs.
D&H: Growing and Evolving
Bystrak joins D&H Distributing at a key time as the industry continues to shift from CapEx offerings toward OpEx, subscription, device as a service and leasing options for partners and end-customers.
Based on some anecdotes, it sounds like D&H Distributing is navigating the transition well. The company grew 21 percent in the 2018 calendar year (through November). Key growth areas during the period included:
- Pro AV and digital signage solutions, up 112%;
- collaboration and unified communications, up 55%;
- network security, up 41%;
- cloud applications, up 108%;
- mobile workstations, up 41%; and
- premium notebooks, up 31%.
Still, ChannelE2E does not know D&H's profit figures or margins. Nor do we know the company's overall cloud services revenues. We're checking in with the company to gain more details about Bystrak's new role at the company.
Axcient, meanwhile, continues to invest in its partner ecosystem and is in the process of adding an experienced executive to succeed Bystrak, according to Chief Revenue Officer Jeff Cummings.
