Kyndryl launches agentic modernization services-as-software

Kyndryl has introduced Agentic Modernization services-as-software, a new offering that turns parts of its infrastructure and application modernization work into prebuilt workflows delivered through Kyndryl Bridge. The service covers areas such as discovery, code analysis, dependency mapping, system design, code generation, testing, and validation across mainframe, cloud, network and distributed environments.

This will give customers a more repeatable way to handle modernization projects that often require large consulting teams and long planning cycles. AI agents can carry out parts of the work, while Kyndryl and customer teams remain responsible for oversight, governance and final decisions. Kyndryl Bridge provides the controls around cost, security and regulatory requirements.

Kyndryl is also giving customers flexibility over which AI models and tools they use. That matters for enterprises that want to modernize without tying future projects to one vendor or platform. The workflows are designed to be reused across different projects, which could help reduce the amount of work required to start each engagement from scratch.

The launch reflects a broader shift in the services market as providers turn more of their delivery knowledge into software. For Kyndryl, that means moving parts of modernization from custom project work into a model that can be applied across more customers and environments. The value will depend on how well those workflows handle the complexity of older systems while still giving customers enough control over how the work gets done.
