Sentinel invests in companies at the lower end of the midmarket. MCA is one of Motorola Solutions’ largest channel partners and provides communications solutions and services across North America.
Founded in 1988, the Spartanburg, South Carolina-based MCA provides its services to more than 10,000 customers. Its customers include public safety institutions and large corporate clients. The company sells Land Mobile Radios and related network infrastructure products and offers services across the communications solutions lifecycle, including design, installation, and ongoing maintenance and repair. MCA’s primary focus is in the United States Southeast.
MCA Ownership History
MCA was acquired in 2013 by WJ Partners. Since then it has completed 16 add-on acquisitions and grown to more than 500 employees across 41 locations in seven states.

Sentinel’s Acquisition Strategy
Sentinel has been busy in recent years. The firm acquired UBEO Business Services, a provider of printer, copier, and related office equipment in April 2018.
Sentinel is known for investing in management buyouts, recapitalizations, corporate divestitures, and going-private transactions of established businesses with EBITDA of up to $65 million.
