LogicMonitor has acquired Unomaly, an AIOps company in Stockholm, Sweden. Financial terms were not disclosed.
This is M&A Deal Number 42 that ChannelE2E has covered in 2020. See the complete M&A deal list here.
Within the MSP market, LogicMonitor is best known as a platform for infrastructure monitoring to maintain or improve customer experience (CX). This deal pushes LogicMonitor deeper into artificial intelligence that automates the identification and resolution of IT issues. Competition with such companies as Datadog, New Relic and SolarWinds, among many other cloud and on-premises monitoring providers, could also intensify, ChannelE2E believes.
LogicMonitor, backed by private equity firm Vista Equity Partners, gains roughly 30 employees, pushing total headcount to about 550 people, CEO Kevin McGibben tells ChannelE2E.
LogicMonitor Acquires Unomaly: Executive Perspectives
In a prepared statement about the deal, McGibben said:
“The value of Unomaly's patented algorithms, combined with LogicMonitor's existing AIOps capabilities, will further help IT teams operating in complex infrastructure environments use AI to automatically analyze and surface anomalies. The result is that users gain the ability to proactively take action before the bottom line is negatively impacted.”
Added Johan Gustafsson, co-founder and CEO, Unomaly:
“LogicMonitor and Unomaly share the same view on the market and the vision of its future, and the synergies between the two companies' innovative R&D are powerful. We are looking forward to joining the LogicMonitor team to bring LogicMonitor customers new AIOps capabilities that help users analyze data and act according to real-time infrastructure intelligence.”
LogicMonitor: Service Provider and Channel Strategy
Channel partners and service providers represent roughly 40 percent of LogicMonitor's annual revenue, which is growing rapidly, McGibben says.
Eager to build on that momentum, LogicMonitor recently hired BMC, TIBCO and SAP veteran Sanjay Gupta as global VP of channels and alliances.LogicMonitor formalized its partner network in February 2019, led Chief Revenue Officer Mark Banfield -- a Datto veteran.
The LogicMonitor platform monitors major public cloud platforms (Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform), and more traditional IT infrastructure such as applications, containers, databases, networks, servers, storage and virtualization.
