Private equity firm East Los Capital has invested $16 million in Caylent Inc, an Amazon Web Services (AWS) partner with Kubernetes container software expertise.
Caylent, founded in 2015, specializes in container orchestration software and DevOps-as-a-Service. The company's core practice areas include cloud migration and modernization, cloud data engineering, cloud security, application modernization, and cloud native application development.
Caylent also is an open source community advocate. The company is a Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) member and Kubernetes Certified Service Provider (KCSP).
Caylent Business Growth, Expansion Plans
Caylent is growing 300 percent year-over-year, the company asserts. The AWS consulting firm has 112 employees listed on LinkedIn. Still, actual revenue and profit figures are undisclosed.
Caylent, backed by the East Los Capital investment, plans to expand its data analytics, machine learning and cloud application development initiatives. Moreover, the company will expand its footprint across the Americas, Caylent says.
In a prepared statement about the investment, Caylent CEO JP La Torre said:
"Through our relationship with AWS, Caylent is able to tap into the world's most complete set of infrastructure, data, and development technologies to design solutions for our customers. Caylent has elected to move all-in on AWS as the platform of choice for our customers' cloud computing needs."

Investor interest in AWS cloud consulting partners and MSPs remains steady. Example deals include:
- September 2021: Private equity firm Eximer Capital invested in DinoCloud, an AWS cloud partner & DevOps consulting firm.
- April 2019: Dell Technologies Capital invested in Faction, an MSP that supports VMware Cloud on AWS.
- May 2017: Tikehaue Capital invested $103 million in Claranet, a DevOps MSP that serves AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure clientele.
M&A activity involving AWS cloud partners also remains very strong.
