Aligned Tek has acquired ProActive Information Management (PIM), a Virginia-based MSP with a 26-year history, in a move that strengthens its position in the Southeast, reports Channel Futures. The deal gives the Alabama-based firm deeper access to the Virginia market and brings a seasoned team with experience in financial services, manufacturing, logistics, and local government.PIM’s founder, Dennis Kao, will remain in a leadership role, continuing to manage his team under the Aligned Tek umbrella. That continuity will help ensure a smooth transition for customers while giving both companies more resources to support small and mid-sized businesses. For Aligned Tek, the acquisition means a broader customer base and the ability to bring its services into a neighboring state without starting from scratch. This deal is part of a larger trend among regional MSPs looking to scale. With IT needs growing more complex and customer expectations rising, smaller players are banding together to offer more comprehensive support. Aligned Tek, which became part of Aligned Holdings in 2022, now adds a new chapter to its growth story through this acquisition. The strategy here isn’t just about size; it’s about reach and relevance. Aligned Tek now has stronger footing in two regional markets and the ability to grow its portfolio in sectors that value consistency and compliance. For customers, that likely means more stability and better service options without having to leave their trusted providers.
