TD Synnex Expands Security Automation Partnerships
Among three recent moves to note:
1. TD Synnex, IBM Security and McAfee Enterprise: McAfee Enterprise and IBM Security together have developed an integrated security solution for TD Synnex. The offering leverages McAfee Enterprise MVISION and IBM Security QRadar. The effort aligns with Cyber Range, a virtual TD Synnex program that prepares security professionals to respond to threats.
2. Automated Firewall Maintenance: TD Synnex is partnering with Indeni to further automate network security for partners and end-customers. The effort involves Indeni’s security infrastructure automation platform — which allows partners and customers to automate firewall maintenance. According to the Indeni web site, the company’s software supports firewalls from Check Point, Cisco Systems, F5 Networks, Fortinet, Juniper Networks, Palo Alto Networks, Radware and Symantec.
Also, Indeni promotes Cloudrail, a security analysis tool for Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and other cloud services.
3. Security Operations Center as a Service (SOCaaS): The Tech Data business in Europe released SOCaaS for MSPs and VARs in the United Kingdom. The offering allows Tech Data partners to provide SOCaaS to their customers without requiring them to make an upfront investment or build their own capabilities, Tech Data said. TD Synnex did not disclose specific third-party tools that were used to create the service.
Distributors and Security Services
Admittedly, TD Synnex faces healthy competition in the security market. Indeed, multiple distributors are striving to help channel partners mitigate risk while driving recurring security revenues. For instance, Ingram Micro launched an aggressive managed security services push in 2017 or so. Also, Pax8 has emerged as a popular cloud marketplace where MSPs increasingly source security, data protection and IT automation tools.
