Pax8 Expands Offerings With Malwarebytes

An abstract design of a terminal display, warning about a cyber attack. Multiple rows of hexadecimal code are interrupted by red glowing warnings and single character exclamation marks. The image can represent a variety of threats in the digital world: data theft, data leak, security breach, intrusion, anti-virus failure, etc…

Pax8 has added cybersecurity protection solution Malwarebytes to its cloud marketplace. The partnership will provide managed service providers (MSPs) with Malwarebytes' all-in-one endpoint security portfolio to defend against constantly evolving threats posed by modern-day cybercriminals, the companies said.

Through the Pax8 Marketplace, MSPs can access Malwarebytes' entire security portfolio, which helps spot and stop more malware, including zero-day threats, ransomware, fileless attacks and exploits, the companies said.

The Malwarebytes OneView platform lets MSPs deliver endpoint security solutions to reduce customer malware infections and ransomware exposure. With centralized access into client sites, OneView streamlines and MSP's management of endpoint security, licensing subscriptions, role-based access, customer reporting and more, the companies said. Additional threat prevention modules and services such as DNS filtering and managed detection and response (MDR) are also available, the companies said.

Malwarebytes solutions available in the Pax8 Marketplace include:

  • Endpoint detection and response (EDR)
  • Endpoint protection (EP)
  • Incident response (IR)
  • Mobile security
  • Vulnerability and patch management
  • DNS filtering
  • Application blocking
  • Managed detection and response (MDR) service

“At Pax8, we understand the vital role security plays in the technology industry, and we emphasize our strong commitment to offer our partners the finest cybersecurity solutions available from top vendors such as Malwarebytes,” said Sophie Merrifield, CVP of Vendor Operations at Pax8. “This partnership provides MSPs with a convenient and efficient way to enhance their clients' security posture, strengthen their own businesses, and stay ahead of the latest cybersecurity threats.”

“Pax8 is the future of SaaS distribution and, together, we can deliver cybersecurity solutions purpose-built for MSPs to help them future proof their security posture,” said Brian Thomas, VP of Global MSP and Channel Programs, Malwarebytes. “We have aggressive plans to continue to invest in our MSP offerings and security portfolio to reach even more partners with our award-winning solutions.”

Pax8's Growth

In late November 2022, Pax8 hit a $1 billion ARR (annual recurring revenue) run rate and said it expected to be EBITDA positive in early 2023, a company spokesperson confirmed to ChannelE2E last year.

The ARR milestone arrived seven months after Pax8 raised $185 million at a $1.7 billion valuation.

Last week, Pax8 named David Powell as Vice President of Sales Strategy. The appointment is part of an effort to assist MSPs in expanding their cybersecurity strategies to meet customers' needs, Pax8 said. Powell will report to Jared Pangretic, SVP of sales, Americas.

In February, Pax8 named Rob Rae Corporate Vice President of Communities and Ecosystems. Rae spent years at Datto from its early BDR days through its acquisitions of other vendors, technology expansions, and eventual IPO. Before Datto, Rae helped build Level Platforms, a remote monitoring and management (RMM) vendor that was acquired by AVG Technologies in 2013.

Next up, the company is preparing the Pax8 Beyond 2023 global partner conference — an inaugural event set for June in Denver, Colorado.
