Bitglass: Cloud Access Security Broker Launches Channel Partner Program

Bitglass has unveiled the Bitglass Authorized Reseller (BAR) channel partner program to assist organizations moving to the cloud. As part of the BAR program, Bitglass will train partners in a demo environment where they can simulate actual customer environments.

"The demo environment for channel partners is no different from the sort that our internal sales team uses," a Bitglass spokesperson told ChannelE2E. " can define granular DLP and access control policies and see those policies enacted in real-time across demo instances of various enterprise cloud apps."

Bitglass indicated the BAR program will provide channel partners with access to digital marketing resources and lead generation programs. The cloud access security broker (CASB) stated BAR program goals include town halls and other channel events designed to engage partners and drive partner investment.

What Does the BAR Program Mean?

The BAR program has launched with a select group of partners across the United States, Europe and APAC, including:

  • NXGN.
  • VCP.
  • IGX UK.
  • Optiv.

Bitglass said it expects to onboard 20 channel partners over the next year, including partners with expertise in cybersecurity and cloud integration. In addition, Bitglass noted the BAR program will help the company expand globally.

"Looking ahead, the partner program will help drive secure mobile and cloud adoption in new market segments, verticals and geographies," Dean Hickman-Smith, Bitglass' senior vice president of worldwide field operations, said in a prepared statement.

Trustwave Integration

Bitglass has been busy on the partner front. The company last month launched an integration with the Trustwave Managed Detection service that provides organizations with visibility into cloud-based threats.

The integration enables Trustwave customers to collect log information and alerts from the Bitglass CASB platform. As a result, organizations can deploy the Trustwave Managed Detection service "for intelligent, actionable alerts and analysis that incorporates data from cloud and mobile security events," according to Bitglass.

"Bitglass' CASB solution offers deep visibility and control across SaaS, IaaS and any mobile device," Rich Campagna, Bitglass' SVP of products and marketing, said in a prepared statement. "Integration with the Trustwave Managed Detection service delivers unified security information and event management."
