Conventional wisdom says Microsoft Dynamics on-premise customers would eventually migrate to Microsoft's Dynamics 365 cloud. But one managed service provider (MSP) has an interesting alternative: Dynamics as a service over on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Indeed, Data Resolution this week announced it would launch Dynamics GP, NAV, SL and AX in the AWS Marketplace. The Southern California MSP said it is “doubling down” on efforts to make enterprise applications on the AWS public cloud more accessible and user-friendly for businesses of all sizes.

"By pre-provisioning the software in the AWS Marketplace, we have simplified what was once a daunting and time-consuming onboarding process for many organizations,” CEO Jim Pathman said in a statement. “Organizations can now take advantage of AWS's pay-per-hour model to maximize flexibility and eliminate any risk of overspending on IT resources."

In addition to Dynamics, Data Resolution was the first AWS partner to offer pre-optimized Sharepoint Enterprise on AWS. The company also offers Adobe ColdFusion and Media Server over AWS.

Data Resolution, based in San Juan Capistrano, provides software hosting (SaaS), managed virtual environments, cloud computing, data center services and more.

Customers span multiple industries, including financial services, healthcare, retail and manufacturing, and the company has been named Microsoft Dynamics Hoster of The Year for the three consecutive years.

Data Resolution said it provides Dynamics and other programs over AWS through a simplified on-demand provisioning process. The turnkey solutions can be up and running fast and with less hassle, while also offering the flexibility of pay-as-you-go (PAYG), bring-your-own-license (BYOL) and managed service options, according to the company.

"Our suite of fully supported enterprise applications on the AWS public cloud represents an exciting and continuing shift in how organizations continue to consume enterprise technology,"  Pathman said. “Data Resolution has made frictionless enterprise purchase and deployment of Microsoft business applications like Dynamics — including taking advantage of Clusters and AWS Resources and allowing clustered deployments — possible for organizations of all sizes."

To sweeten the deal for interested customers, Data Resolution and AWS are offering up to $20,000 in AWS hosting infrastructure credits to those who sign up before June 30.
