Syncro PSA-RMM Cloud for MSPs: The Product Strategy

Ian Alexander

Yesterday we mentioned Syncro's new cloud-based PSA (professional services automation) and RMM (remote monitoring and management) platform for MSPs. But we had some follow-up questions about the company, the software, the funding and more.

For instance, we noticed that many of Syncro's employees also worked at RepairShopr, a small business management platform for computer repair businesses. So we wondered if Syncro was merely a repackaged version of RepairShopr or more.

We emailed our questions to Syncro Chief Operating Officer Ian Alexander. He replied back. Here's the conversation...

ChannelE2E: Is Syncro completely new or built on the RepairShopr code base? What’s the relationship, if anything, between Syncro & RepairShopr?

Alexander: Syncro and RepairShopr share an engine, but they are separate platforms designed for separate types of businesses.

Syncro is a PSA, RMM, and Remote Access platform designed specifically for MSPs and also includes MSP-specific functionality like Remote Control, Remote Command Prompt, super powerful Scripting, dashboarding and analytics, with tons of new functionality shipping every week.

ChannelE2E: Can the products (PSA, RMM) be used individually or do you have to use them together?

Alexander: For MSPs, Syncro combines a powerful PSA, embedded RMM, and Remote Session tool in one unified platform. We do offer a standalone PSA option as well with more integration partners on the way.

ChannelE2E: How is the business funded?

Alexander: Syncro is self-funded by our parent company, Servably, an independent player in the break-fix-to-MSP space that’s been profitable for over five years. This stability has given us the flexibility to build for our users based on feedback, community input, and what we see the MSP market lacks and needs.

ChannelE2E: How many MSPs have been beta testing Syncro?

Alexander: Syncro just came out of Open Beta this past November, but in that short time we’ve had hundreds of MSPs using the platform. It’s super exciting to get to talk with users, hear their needs, then build and ship super fast.

ChannelE2E: What’s the expansion strategy for 2018?

Alexander: We have an aggressive roadmap for Syncro with new features dropping each week. We’ll be covering all of the new functionality on Syncro’s blog - stay tuned, tons of good stuff will be coming out in the new year :)

ChannelE2E: Yup, we'll stay tuned.
