A portion of Dimension Data, the global IT solutions provider, may undergo an ownership change. The potential shift may involved Dimension Data's Middle East and Africa (MEA), where executives apparently are mulling a partial management buyout from parent NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone) of Japan.

According to TechCentral, the Dimension Data MEA business could shift to the following ownership breakdown:

  • NTT retaining 25 percent of the MEA business;
  • A consortium of managers owning 51 percent; and
  • 24 percent sold on the JSE (Johannesburg Stock Exchange).

Dimension Data declined to comment when TechCentral approached the company about the report. ChannelE2E has not independently confirmed the report.

NTT acquired Dimension Data  for $3.2 billion in 2010.
