13. Dell EMC-Cisco Partnership: Even as they compete with one another, Cisco Systems and Dell EMC have vowed to work together on converged infrastructure initiatives for at least the next five years.

12. Collaboration Management: Unify Square has unveiled cross-platform collaboration management and security tools available as part of an expanded version of its PowerSuite software. Moving beyond the company’s established Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business focus, Unify Square will begin launching dedicated offerings for Zoom Video Communications, Slack, and Workplace by Facebook in the coming months, the company says.

SD-WANs - Education Vertical: Four academic institutions in Canada, including District School Board Niagara, London District Catholic School Board, Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board and Upper Grand District School Board, have deployed Fortinet FortiGate Secure SD-WAN solution, the company says. ChannelE2E is checking to see if or how partners were involved in the deployments.

10. Microsoft Office 365 in Asia: NTT Communications is partnering with SkyKick to drive Microsoft Office 365 adoption in Japan.

9. Network Monitoring: Network Critical has launched SmartNA PortPlus packet broker appliances. The appliances make it easier to monitor and secure dynamic, growing networks, the company claims.

Talent - Bare Metal Applications: Diamanti, which develops a bare-metal platform for containerized applications, has hired Bill Cordero as vice president of Worldwide Channels reporting to Diamanti CEO Tom Barton. In addition, the company launched an online portal – Diamanti Edge – to provide additional pre-sales support to certified channel partners.

7. Talent - Field Service Management: ClickSoftware, a provider of field service management software, has hired Jay Schaufeld as the company's first Chief People Officer (CPO).  Schaufield previously held HR-focused executive roles at ownerIQ and Meteorix, which IBM ultimately acquired.

6. Cloud Services Provider - Rebrand: Online Tech, a provider of secure, compliant cloud services for enterprise and channel partners, has changed its name to Otava. The company acquired various Neverfail assets in 2018.

5. Financial Results - Professional IT Services: DynTek, which recently opened a SOC in New York, has announced results for its fiscal Q3 ended March 31, 2019. Revenues rose 28.3 percent to $44.5 million; EBITDA rose 50.3 percent to $2 million; and net earnings rose 100 percent to $1 million, the company says.

4. M&A - Email Marketing: Upland Software has acquired  email marketing firm PostUp for $35 million.

3. M&A - Workforce Managed Services: Workspend has acquired DCR Workforce's MSP business. The combined company focuses on talent as a managed service for midsize and enterprise customers.

2. Technology Earnings: Microsoft (MSFT, April 24), Amazon (AMZN, April 25) and many other technology companies are expected to announce quarterly results this week.
