Cloud Services Acquisition: Evolve IP Buys WaaS Provider Azzaron
This is Evolve IP’s 10th acquisition since about 2007. The Azzaron deal gives Evolve IP a stronger presence in the Southwestern United States, while pushing deeper into the veterinary, construction, and legal vertical markets, the company says.
Azzaron, founded in 2009, specializes in Desktop as a Service (Daas), Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas), and WaaS. Evolve IP will integrate and cross-sell the Azzaron offerings. At the same time, Azzaron’s team will promote Evolve’s cloud computing services and cloud communications services, which include hosted contact centers, IP phone systems, and unified communications. The Azzaron team will remain intact, with the company saying it expects to grow its headcount and its regional focus.
Evolve IP’s Business
Evolve IP’s OneCloud solution is a unified platform that offers disaster recovery, contact centers, virtual desktops, IP phone systems, IaaS and more. The company boasts more than 1,300 commercial business accounts with nearly 200,000 users, licensed seats, and managed endpoints. Evolve IP has a foothold in most industries, including healthcare, finance, veterinary, legal, insurance, construction, technology, travel, and retail and to some of the world’s most recognizable brands.
The company has been on a buying spree over the last seven years, building a collection of MSPs, CSPs, and network integrators. In October 2016, Evolve bought Xtium Inc, a cloud computing services provider (CSP).
Evolve also works with Great Hill Partners, a private equity firm in Boston, Mass. Great Hill invested in the company and acquired majority control in 2010. Financial terms were not disclosed, but the deal includes a $100 million war chest for Evolve IP to make additional acquisitions.
