E8 Storage’s technology leverages a rack-scale architecture and software-defined capabilities, the company has indicated. The company raised $12 million in Series B funding led by Accel in 2016. ChannelE2E is checking to see if E8 Storage has raised additional money since that time.
At the time of the Series B funding, E8 Storage described its business focus as follows:
“E8 Storage provides the next generation of flash storage with a rack-scale architecture for the enterprise and software-defined cloud, delivering 10 times the performance for half the cost of existing storage products, while using only off-the-shelf hardware. E8 Storage’s appliance eliminates storage need projections, is easily upgradeable and expandable, enables converged networking, and increases SSD utilization to over 90%. With E8 Storage, data centers can enjoy unprecedented storage performance density and scale, delivering on the promise of software-defined storage without compromising on reliability and availability.”
Also at the time of the 2016 funding, E8 Storage CEO Zivan Ori said the company’s technology was in beta testing.
As of this morning, the E8 Storage website was offline. ChannelE2E has reached out to AWS and E8 Storage for additional comment.
