ServerCentral Buys AWS Cloud Partner Turing Group

ServerCentral, a managed IT infrastructure provider, has acquired Turing Group, an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Advanced Consulting Partner.

As the newly minted ServerCentral Turing Group (SCTG) points out, by the end of 2019, more than 69 percent of enterprises will operate in multi-cloud or hybrid IT environments. This deal will allow the company to now offer public cloud guidance, strategy, management, and application development alongside core managed data center, private cloud, and managed IT services.

“With the rise of public cloud, it was clear to us that offering a hybrid solution – part data center, part public cloud – had to be our future. We’re lucky to bring on an organization like Turing Group, one that understands the public cloud – and AWS specifically – better than any other provider,” said Jordan Lowe, chief executive officer of SCTG.

ServerCentral had already shown support of Turing Group’s business, having made a minority investment in the firm a year ago. Indeed, Turing is one of a handful of companies in the world to have earned three major AWS partner designations: Amazon Web Services Advanced Consulting Partner, Managed Service Provider, and Authorized Public Sector Partner.

SCTG’s Strategy

The company will have around 120 employees. Its hybrid cloud services and solutions now include:

  • Cloud Strategy Development & Assessments
  • Global Managed Data Center & Network Services
  • Managed Cloud Services (AWS, Private, Hybrid, VMware)
  • Managed IT Infrastructure Services
  • IoT Platforms, Device Management & Analytics
  • Cloud-Native Software Development

The newly formed company will better be able to chase new opportunities and engage with the growing cloud market, according to Brendan Caufield, chief revenue officer, SCTG.

“As a top AWS partner, our biggest challenge is keeping up with demand as more and more organizations want to move to the cloud,” said Caulfield. “Joining forces with ServerCentral allows us to pursue new business much more aggressively while giving us the technical capabilities and expertise to provide whatever solution serves our clients best, whether that’s all AWS or a hybrid approach.”

Details of the transaction were not disclosed.
