MSP Acquisition: NuMSP Buys NTConnections
Clifton, New Jersey-based NuMSP, a nationwide MSP, has acquired NTConnections, a full-service MSP offering IT solutions for small and mid-sized businesses (SMBs). Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The deal – NuMSP’s thirteenth – allows the company to enter the Virginia market as it continues its efforts to enter every major market in the United States, NuMSP said.
NTConnections was founded in 2000 by CEO Scott Ostergard. He commented on the news:
“I’m thrilled about our new partnership with NuMSP, it’s great to be working with experienced and like-minded people who are aligned with our goals and objectives,” said Scott Ostergard, Founder and CEO of NTConnections. “Together with NuMSP, we can further tailor services to our clients’ ever-changing security needs and ensure they are building resilience from the inside out.”
Jim Griffith, CEO of NuMSP, also commented on the deal:
“We’re very proud to welcome NTConnections to NuMSP’s national platform. Scott and his team share our core philosophy of client-centered service, and we look forward to combining our skills to serve the needs of small and mid-sized businesses in Virginia.”
NuMSP says it is building a nationwide company with the scale and resources to deliver advanced IT services to SMBs that will rival incumbent solutions at Fortune 500 companies. This is the company’s 13th buyout since being founded in 2018. At least six of those deals were in 2019 alone.
The company does not shy away from its M&A strategy, prominently displaying options for MSPs interested in selling their business. “If you own an IT services company and are considering selling as an option, we would love to speak with you at your earliest convenience,” the website says.
Among the NuMSP deals that ChannelE2E has tracked:
- J and J Technical Services, an Albuquerque, New Mexico-based managed service provider
- NetFusion, a managed IT services provider in Los Angeles
- AZBS, a Chicago-based full-service MSP that serves SMBs.
- A business arm of Corporate Technologies in March 2019.
- Sacramento, California’s Salient IT;
- Ultimate Technical Solutions Inc (UTSI) of New Orleans, Louisiana; and
- Network Medics, an MSP in Minneapolis-St. Paul, Minnesota.
Amid those deals, ChannelE2E is hearing chatter about NuMSP potentially standardizing on ConnectWise Manage for business management, PSA (professional services automation) and ticketing services. However, some of the acquired MSPs will need to be migrated to the platform in the weeks and months ahead. We’re listening closely for updates.
