Mark Cattini’s Latest Exit?: Salesforce Acquiring ClickSoftware for $1.5B?
Salesforce is negotiating to acquire ClickSoftware Technologies for $1.5 billion, according to the Calcalist financial news site. If the deal goes through, it could be the third big, successful exit for ClickSoftware CEO Mark Cattini.
Indeed, Cattini previously led Autotask, an MSP-centric business automation and management software company that merged into Datto in 2017. Earlier, he was CEO of MapInfo, which Pitney Bowes acquired in 2007.
ClickSoftware develops cloud-based field service management software. Francisco Partners acquired the business for $438 million and took the company private in April 2015. At the time, Moshe BenBassat was CEO of ClickSoftware. That title at some point transitioned to Tom Heiser, who led the company from October 2015 to September 2017, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Cattini joined the company sometime in early 2018. Another Autotask veteran, Pat Burns, joined the business more recently as senior VP of product management.
We’ll be watching closely to see if Salesforce ultimately scoops up ClickSoftware. ChannelE2E has not independently confirmed the rumored Salesforce-ClickSoftware negotiations.
