Microsoft Partner KSM Consulting Acquires App Developer Connect Think
KSM Consulting (KSMC) — a technology, data analytics, and management consulting firm and Microsoft Gold partner — has acquired fellow Indianapolis, Indiana company and app development firm Connect Think. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The private equity-backed KSMC says the deal will expand its already-growing business applications practice.
Mark Caswell, CEO of KSM Consulting, commented on the deal:
“Our clients have been expressing a need for increased support, expansion and optimization of their applications. Traditionally, we have directly offered software strategy, assessment, and selection services, but have partnered for app development and complex integration projects. Bringing on the Connect Think team allows us to fulfill all application needs for our clients.”
The company also announced the appointment of Ryan Achterberg to director of applications to lead the business unit. Eight of Connect Think’s founders and employees have joined KSMC under Achterberg’s leadership. Achterberg is a Microsoft Certified System Expert and was the second employee to join KSMC in 2010 as a senior consultant.
KSMC’s business applications practice will service Connect Think’s clients and complete existing development projects, the company said. KSMC also announced that it will hire as many as eight additional employees to support “the growing client need for application development, integration and management.”
KSM Consulting Growth
Founded in 2008, KSMC was itself acquired earlier this year by private equity firm Renovus Capital Partners. That deal followed what KSMC referred to as a historic period of growth for the company, which saw it grow by more than 500 percent over the last five years, with 50 percent of that growth in the last year alone.
At the time of that transaction, KSMC said it planned to hire 30 new people at its Indianapolis headquarters to support future growth. The company now says it has added 42 new employees and has a further 22 positions open.
