GreenPages Acquires Cybersecurity Consulting Firm NTG

GreenPages, a hybrid cloud services provider, has acquired Massachusetts-based Norwell Technology Group (NTG), an IT and security advisory firm focused on digital transformation services. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The GreenPages services portfolio includes Hybrid Cloud Strategy & Operations; DevOps; Cyber Security; BI & Analytics; Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure; and Managed IT Services. As of the 2015, the company had office locations in:

  • Kittery, Maine
  • Atlanta, Georgia
  • New York City
  • Boston, Massachusetts

NTG, meanwhile, is a technology integrator that offers such security services as:

  • Application and Cloud Security
  • Governance, Risk, and Compliance
  • Incident Response and Forensics
  • Security Analytics, Architecture and Technology Assessment
  • Threat and Attack Simulation
  • Security Information & Event Management (SIEM)
  • Framework Development (NIST, ISO, HITRUST, CJIS)
  • Penetration Testing
  • Compliance Reporting

Describing the deal, Josh Dineen, president of sales for strategic services at GreenPages, said: “By combining the technical expertise of GreenPages and NTG, we can help clients reduce their attack surface, improve their technology utilization, and protect their data with the most powerful advisory and cyber security services on the market.”

This is the latest in a growing list of deals involving VARs, MSPs and IT consulting firms acquiring cybersecurity and/or MSSP expertise. For instance, Six Degrees, a cloud-centric MSP, acquired cybersecurity consulting firm and MSSP CNS Group of London.

MSPs worldwide are pushing deeper into security, though the paths forward vary greatly from company to company. Some are making acquisitions. Others are standing up their own SOCs (security operations centers). But most are looking to partner.
