Evolve IP Acquires Mtel for European Cloud Services Expansion
For Scott Kinka, Evolve CTO and founding partner, the acquisition is a match made in the clouds. “Mtel is probably the most ‘like’ Evolve IP of any of the service providers we’ve met around the world,” Kinka tells ChannelE2E. “They are focused on the midmarket; they deliver customized cloud strategies rather than one-size-fits-none over the top services; and they maintain long-term relationships through excellent and demonstrable service. We feel like we’ve met our European doppelganger in UCaaS (Unified Communications as a Service) and CCaaS (Contact Center as a Service).”
According to Kinka, the move allows the company to significantly increase its footprint in Western Europe for technology, sales, and service. Evolve IP also gains 60 associates who have IVR (Interactive Voice Response) and Contact Center experience in such areas as Broadsoft’s UC platform, he adds.
Kinka says Evolve will initially focus on meshing the two companies’ UCaaS and CCaaS product portfolios and look to immediately expand its Cloud Connect SD-WAN service into its European data centers, allowing regional customers to connect to Evolve securely over public Internet connections.
“Very quickly we’ll start to move into end-user computing features like Office 365 and our New Evolve Sync file sync and share product,” he adds. “Headed into the New Year, we’ll begin moving the rest of the Evolve IP OneCloud into Europe by expanding DaaS, DRaaS and IaaS products into the region.”
About Mtel and Evolve IP
Mtel opened its doors more than 25 years ago in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and currently handles approximately 25 percet of all incoming telephone traffic in the Netherlands, according to the company’s website. That amounts to more than 100 million customer contacts per year.
Wayne, Pennsylvania-based Evolve IP calls itself one of the world’s fastest growing cloud strategy companies. The business provides cloud solutions to more than 1,500 enterprises and to more than 210,000 users in many industries, including healthcare, finance, veterinary, legal, construction, technology, and more. The firm’s OneCloud solution offers disaster recovery, contact centers, virtual desktops, IP phone systems, IaaS, and more.
How Evolve IP Is Funded
Boston, Mass.-based Great Hill Partners acquired majority control of Evolve IP in 2016. The exact details of the deal weren’t disclosed, but it did include a $100 million war chest for M&A strategies.
This is Evolve’s 11th acquisition since around 2007 as it builds up a collection of MSPs, CSPs, and network integrators. Most recently the company acquired WaaS Provider Azzaron in May of this year. In October 2016 they purchased Xtium Inc, a cloud computing services provider (CSP).
Now, the Mtel deal should allow Evolve IP to expanded into Western Europe, particularly in the Netherlands and Germany.”
